Wu Bixia, born in July 1975, is of Han Nationality and holds a master’s degree. She is a member of the China Association for Promoting Democracy, and currently serves as the Head of the Department of Vocal and Opera at the China Conservatory of Music, as well as the President of the China Academy of Vocal Music. Additionally, she is recognized as a State Council Government Special Allowance Expert. Renowned as the first singer in China to seamlessly integrate Chinese national bel canto with Western bel canto, she has earned prestigious international accolades and the title of “Nightingale with Both Chinese and Western Elements.” Wu has held more than 100 solo concerts all over the world and has performed in numerous Chinese and foreign operas and vocal concertos. Additionally, she has released more than 20 solo albums. By completing many major international performance tasks and collaborating with both international and domestic professional orchestras, she has garnered special attention and high praise from the global music community, international audiences, and media outlets. Her performances have resonated deeply within the music circles and earned widespread acclaim from all sectors of society. In recognition of her outstanding contributions, she has been honored with titles such as “Famous Cultural Celebrity” and “Four Batch Talents” by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China, as well as the title of “National Model Teacher.” Additionally, she was awarded the first prize in the Folk Style Singing category at the National Vocal Music Competition by the Ministry of Culture.
