Zhang Xiaohuan, Head Coach of the National Synchronized Swimming Team and Chief Coach of the synchronized swimming team at Beijing Muxiyuan Sports Technical School (Recommended by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Sports)

Zhang Xiaoxin, born in August 1980, is of Han Nationality and holds a master’s degree. She is a member of the Communist Party of China, and serves as the head coach of the National Synchronized Swimming Team and the chief coach of the synchronized swimming team at Beijing Muxiyuan Sports Technical School. Zhang started practicing synchronized swimming in 1990, and was selected for the Beijing Synchronized Swimming Team the same year. She joined the National Youth Team in 1995 and the National Team in 1997. At the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, she and her teammates made history by winning the bronze medal in the synchronized swimming team competition, marking China’s first Olympic medal in this sport. In 2009, Zhang Xiaoxin transitioned to coaching. At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, she led the China Synchronized Swimming Team to a remarkable achievement, securing two gold medals—one in the group event and another in the pair event. Under her leadership, the team was also awarded the National Collective May 1st Labor Medal and the Collective Medal of March 8th Red-Banner Pacesetters. Additionally, Zhang was honored as a National Outstanding Individual in Contributions to Sports and recognized as an Excellent Member of the Beijing Youth Federation.
