Beijing Women's Federation

The 13th National Women's Congress (NWC) is set to open in Beijing on October 23. A 65-person delegation from the capital city will attend the women’s congress, during which they will discuss over major issues concerning women's affairs and display the positive image of outstanding women in Beijing in the new era.

Yuan Peng is committed to the research and treatment of breast cancer. During the past two decades, she has annually received the visit of over 3,000 patients and brought hope to many people with malignant tumors. She has attached importance to the promotion of cancer prevention and control, giving lectures to the public with easily understandable words. She was invited to be a guest of a health program of China Central Television and shared science popularization articles and videos in personal social media accounts, and she was chief editor of a collection of cartoons on cancer prevention and control to help patients receive medical treatment and cope with difficulties in their life.

Yuan has taken part in the writing of national standards, guidelines on breast cancer prevention and control, won 13 State-level and provincial-level awards and titles, such as the second prize of the State Science and Technology Advancement Award and the first prize of the National Maternal & Infant Health Award, undertaken eight State-level research projects and obtained an national invention patent. She has fostered a large group of high-caliber graduate students and medical practitioners, contributing to the development of China's health sector.
