The 2024 Zhongguancun Forum (ZGC Forum) is scheduled to open in Beijing on April 25. The 2024 Global Forum on Women in Sci-Tech Innovation, as a parallel event of the 2024 ZGC Forum, will be jointly held by the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), the Ministry of Science and Technology, the China Association for Science and Technology, and Beijing Municipal People's Government on April 27. The event is undertaken by Beijing Women's Federation and the China Women's Association for Science and Technology in the capital city.

With the theme of "She Vitality & New Momentum", the 2024 Global Forum on Women in Sci-Tech Innovation will invite a number of outstanding women representatives in the field of science and technology at home and abroad and Chinese and international scientists who have paid great attention to the career development of women researchers. Among them are honoree of the Fields Medal, the highest global award in mathematics, and academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Participants will engage in talks about how to fully unleash the potential of women researchers in the new wave of sci-tech revolution and industrial transformation, shoulder their responsibility and mission in the advancement of global innovative development, and work together for a bright future of sustainable development for mankind. The following is the introduction of the forums guest speaker Shing-Tung Yau.

Shing-Tung Yau is a chair professor and head of Yau Mathematical Sciences Center, and Qiuzhen College of Tsinghua University, and head of Beijing Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Applications. He is a foreign CAS academician, an academician of the US's National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Yau is a winner of the Fields Medal, the Oswald Veblen Prize in Geometry, the MacArthur Fellowship, the Crafoord Prize, the US's National Medal of Science, the Wolf Prize in Mathematics, the Marcel Grossmann Award, and the Shaw Prize.

At the forum, Yau will deliver a keynote speech under the theme of "Women and Scientific Development". He will review the historical contributions made by women to sci-tech innovation and development and share with attendees about his feeling and insight concerning the promotion of women's equal participation in sci-tech innovation through the exploration of their potential and the cultivation of high-caliber talents.
