Beijing Women’s Federation held a training session for women from its counterpart-aid areas on November 21 in the capital to improve their development ability and publicize the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
Song Yushui, part-time vice-president of the All-China Women’s Federation (ACWF) and member of the Party leadership group of the Intellectual Property Court in Beijing, was invited to the meeting to publicize the congress spirit.
Combining her own experiences attending the 19th CPC National Congress and studying its spirit, Song gave a report titled “Prosperity and Mission of Rule of Law in A New Era Led by Xi Jinping” during the event.
Song made her speech from three aspects.
Firstly, she thoroughly explained every part of the report to the congress.
“The report for the 19th CPC National Congress has reflected three notable characteristics — “Our brilliant achievements deserve to be looked up to”; “We have turned from self-respect to confidence”; and, “model worker and craftsman spirits have become an important mark of national innovation,” she said.
When interpreting the historical mission of the CPC in the new era, Song said Xi’s Thoughts on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era is another advancement of the Party’s ideology with the times and the latest result of the Party’s theoretical innovation.
Xi’s Thought has offered guidance in ideology and action for upholding and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, Song noted.
Secondly, rule of law has become a keyword in the report to the 19th CPC National Congress.
Xi’s idea of governance by law for a new era conveyed by the congress report has clearly pointed out that the general goal of pushing forward the overall rule of law is to build a socialist legal system with Chinese characteristics and a country governed by law, she said.
It has reflected the firm determination of the Party to comprehensively advancing the building of rule of law, entering upon a new journey of legal construction.
Thirdly, Song shared her thoughts on the congress’s deployment of rule of law.
“The report to the 19th CPC National Congress, the Party Constitution and the report of the Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CPC Central Committee have all reflected the idea of governance by law,” she remarked.
“There is an increasing sense of identification and gain for the socialist path, theory and system with Chinese characteristics that feature democracy and rule of law.
“All-nation legal construction needs judicial workers to love and be committed to their work.”
Song also introduced how to solve the intellectual property right issues that women may meet during their entrepreneurship.
She encouraged female entrepreneurs present at the meeting to apply study and implementation of the congress spirit to their practical work and life.
Over 60 people including Zhou Jing, vice-president of Beijing Women’s Federation, female entrepreneurs from southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, southwest China's Sichuan Province, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and officials from grassroots women’s federations attended the meeting.
