China Wonderland Nurserygoods Co., Ltd. signs a child safety products donation agreement at the forum
The Women's Forum of the 22nd Beijing-Taiwan Science and Technology Forum, guided by the Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) and sponsored by the Beijing, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Overseas Chinese Women's Association and the Taiwan Women's League,took place in Beijing on August 29.
More than 110 participants, including female intellectuals, entrepreneurs and representatives from relevant associations, women's committees from party organizations, and women'sfederations at district levels from Beijing attended the forum.
At the forum, the Taiwan-funded enterprise China Wonderland Nurserygoods Co., Ltd. donated 40 containers of child safety products to the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation and 60 containers of products to the Beijing Women and Children's Development Foundation.
The donation showed the integrated development of the cause of women and children in Beijing and Taiwan, and the great affection of the compatriots.
Participants attending the donationceremony included Chairman GuoJinlong and Vice Chairman Zhang Ping of the Cross-Strait CEO SummitChinese mainland side, Chairman XiaoWanchang and his wife Zhu Chuxian, Vice Chairman QiuZhengxiong and Secretary General Chen Ruilongof the Cross-Strait CEO SummitTaiwan side,Jing Dunquan,Vice Chairman of the Soong Ching Ling Foundation,Qi Jing,Member of the Standing Committee of Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, andZhengQinming, Chairman of China Wonderland Nurserygoods Co., Ltd. Zhang Yajun, President of BWF, presided over the ceremony.
Zhang saidthat this forum,based on the theme "same responsibility and common dream", brings friends old and new together to seek common development andrenew friendship. It will help expand exchanges and connections, promote development and common progress, and enhanceintegration among women in Beijing and Taiwan.
Zhang added that, bearing the idea of people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits are all of one family in mind, women on both sides need to make full use of the cross-Straits women's exchange platform in deepening exchanges and cooperation, innovating exchange carriers, working out standard exchange mechanisms, and mobilizing more women to participate in the peaceful development of cross-Straits relations.
Huang Xihui, head of the Taiwan women's delegation and President of the Taiwan Women's League, thanked BWF for their kind invitation. She said the forum will help women in Beijing and Taiwan to keep up to date with thelatest information and be inspired through exchangeactivities.
Li Changyuan, Deputy Director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of Beijing, attended the forum, saying that Beijing's high-quality development will secure greater cooperation opportunities between Beijing and Taiwan. Women in Beijing and Taiwan need to build closer connections,promote friendship and provide the impetus to enhance effectiveness and cooperation.
Mu Hong, Director-General of the Liaison Department of the All-China Women's Federation, also gave a speech at the forum. She said the forum, which is focused on the responsibilities and mission of women across the Straits under the new situation, is of positive significance in promotingcross-Straits integration and development. She called on women to give full play to their unique role in social and family life, educating children with a correct view of history, nation and country, promoting the fine traditional Chinese culture, and cherishing patriotic feelings for the homeland.
Zhao Hongwei, Vice President of BWF, presided over the opening ceremony of the forum. The keynote speech session and discussion sessionof the forum were co-chaired by ZhongJin, Executive Vice President of the Beijing, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Overseas Chinese Women's Association, and Zhan Yazhu, Vice President of the Taiwan Women's League.
Li Ling, Professorwith theNationalSchool of Development at Peking University, and Huang Yumei, head of the Department of Hotel Management and Culinary Creativity at Taiwan Minghsin University of Science and Technology, delivered speeches on "opportunities and challenges for women in the unprecedentedchange in 100 years" and "integration of science and technology development and economic growth and their comprehensive value effects" during the forum.
Three speakers from Beijing side, including Feng Fang, chairperson of Beijing GeeDee Technology Co., Ltd, Wei Feng, head of Standard Analysis Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Yang Feng, the Northern Kunqu Opera Thearter and three speakers from Taiwan side, including You Zhihui, vice director of Accounting Firm of Taiwan Cross-Straits United Trade Association, Guan Li, chairperson of Liuhe Health Biotech Co., Ltd, Liao Qianhui, art director of Yixinwang Co., Ltd., shared cutting-edge concepts and women's stories in entrepreneurship and leadership, bio-ecology and the integration of technology and art. Participants also had adiscussion on promoting high-tech industry cooperation and industrial development in Beijing and Taiwan.
In addition, three companies in Beijing—Beijing International Bio Products Institute Co., Ltd, Beijing King and Capital Law Firm and Beijing Hengyixuan Jewel Co., Ltd. signedfour strategic cooperation agreements with Taiwan's associations and enterprises.
XieXiangying, a participant of the forum from Beijing, gave her calligraphy work that reads "People on both sides of the Taiwan Straits are all of one family" to the forum as a present to congratulate the success of the forum, which featured a friendly atmosphere.
The Women's Forum of the Beijing-Taiwan Science and Technology Forum has been held for eight sessions. Through the platform, women from Beijing and Taiwan show their talents in communication,accumulate wisdom in cooperation and demonstrateaffectioninservices for women. The participantsexchange ideas, share wisdomand promote economic development to create brilliant careers andmake common dreams come true.Compared with previous years, this year's forum features participants at a higher level, more diversified topics and wider scope of involvement.
During the forum, BWF officials accompanied the Taiwan women's delegation on a visit to high-tech enterprises in the Beijing Yizhuang Economic-Technological Development Areaand inspected the site of the International Horticultural Exhibition 2019.
Members of the delegation commented that Beijing has witnessed high-quality development and has achieved remarkable results inthe undertakings of women and children.They hope to maintain friendly exchanges with women in Beijing, improve the level of communication, and work together to achieve win-win cooperation.
