Beijing Women's Federation Calls for Women, Families to Strengthen Epidemic Prevention
Date:2020-9-1 10:04:37 Views:Beijing, as the capital city of China, faces a grim and complex situation of COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control. The reemergence of confirmed cases in the city's farm produce market, Xinfadi, in Fengtai District, has given a big test on the city's epidemic prevention and control work. To stem the spread of the epidemic, the Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) issued the following proposals to all women and families citywide.
First, members of women's federations at all levels and members of the federations' executive committees, female volunteers, women social organizations and women model workers should stick to their posts and take the lead in observing all regulations on epidemic prevention and control and implementing anti-epidemic measures. They should provide public services such as publicizing policies and knowledge of epidemic prevention, and actively participate in community-based work, such as standing guard and disinfecting living environment, in order to establish an impermeable network for prevention and control and maintain the city's harmony and stability.
Second, everyone should shoulder their social responsibilities and actively cooperate with the epidemic prevention and control work. Once you find that you may have been exposed to infection, you should immediately report to the community where you live, accept sampling and screening, reduce your travel to avoid cross-infection, and conduct medical observation at home. People who volunteer to have a nucleic acid test should make an appointment in advance and go to the designated testing institution, or sign up for a test in the community. Everyone should pay close attention to their own health conditions and quickly seek medical advice after respiratory symptoms appear. Meanwhile, one should not believe and spread rumors or instill panic, and must be confident in winning the battle against the epidemic.
Third, all families ought to work together to prevent and control the epidemic. Every member should be more aware of personal protection and keep good personal hygiene practices, such as wearing masks, washing hands, ventilating the house, and maintaining a safe social distance. Great importance should be attached to food safety and a healthy lifestyle should also be formed in family. One example would be using serving chopsticks and spoons when having a family dinner. Family members need to care about each other's health, and avoid gathering. Everyone should report cases, conduct quarantine measures and seek medical treatment without delay if an outbreak is suspected. Neighbors should help each other and follow the community's access control, protecting the shared home.
It is imperative to prevent the domestic epidemic from rebounding and spreading. We call upon all women and families in the capital to take actions and contribute their strength to winning the battle against the epidemic.
