Beijing Women's Federation holds a conference to discuss its work on group members on September 2.

The Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) held a working conference on its group members on September 2. Zhou Jing, a member of the Leading Party Members' Group and Vice-President of the BWF, delivered a speech at the conference. The presidents and secretary-generals of BWF's 18 group members attended the conference.

At the conference, Zhou underlined the importance of the work of the group members and their job assignments, and urged the members to be an indispensable force for women's work. She also gave a set of clear and specific requirements for the members to strengthen their development and improve their contacts and services.

The head of the Grassroots Organization Department of BWF outlined the working systems of BWF's group members and the management measures of group member registration, and then arranged their re-registration.

The BWF also called upon its members to participate in the wide-ranging garbage-sorting campaign currently taking place across the capital. It issued and interpreted special documents, such as a work plan for implementing family-based garbage sorting and a plan for conducting online garbage-sorting training courses. The group members were urged to participate in an online relay commitment activity.

At the conference, representatives from the group members exchanged opinions on their work progress, organization, and services for women's groups, as well as how to enhance mutual exchanges and cooperation.

The improvement of the work on group members is an important step for BWF in terms of making a breakthrough in the reform of women's federations. The federation will continue to strengthen contact with its group members, establish and improve meeting, investigation, communication and cooperation systems to keep track of their work on a regular basis, and build a platform for them to give full play to their roles. It will also make more efforts to instruct women's federations at district and sub-district (township) levels, and increase the number of group members.
