Beijing Women's Federation

Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) held an event for women engaged in new forms of employment at the Debi WE International Cultural and Creative Center in Dongcheng District of the capital city on November 26. The event brought together over 80 women representatives from new types of economic and social organizations and groups in new forms of employment. Du Chunxiao, Vice-President of the BWF, and Xing Zheng, Director of the third section in the Organization Department of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), attended and addressed the ceremony.

A short video titled "Warming Beijing and Warming You" was broadcast at the beginning of the ceremony. Some participants lighted a torch, which symbolized hope and dream, and unveiled a services brand. The gathering also invited representatives of executive members of the BWF and women in new forms of employment, who had built pairing-up assistance partnership. Executive members of the federation distributed specially-designed gloves among representatives of women in new forms of employment. After the ceremony, a total of 6,000 pair of gloves would be sent to local women across the entire city.

Representatives from various industries and groups shared their experiences and conveyed thanks to the women's federations and people from different social sectors.

Noting that women in new forms of employment have shown their strength, perseverance, vitality and creativity, Xing asked them to continuously make full use of their special functions in bringing more warmth to the capital city and local residents. She said that the Organization Department of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and other government agencies will continue with their caring and support toward people in new forms of employment, and work together with them in the building of a more beautiful and friendly city and contribute women's strength to the high-quality development of the capital city.

Du said that BWF will continuously leverage its strengths, unite and lead women in new forms of employment to follow the leadership of the Party, strive for extraordinary performance at the workplace and further enhance personal sense of belonging. She said that the women's federations at all levels should further improve their services, upgrade public service centers, integrate all types of resources available, underscore obligation fulfillment, organize various kinds of caring activities for women in new forms of employment during festivals and special occasions, polish the services brand "Warming Beijing and Warming You," spread the warmth of the capital city and build it into a friendly city.
