The session focused on General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech delivered at the meeting marking the 75th anniversary of the CPPCC’s founding, with discussions on strategies to advance work in the new era.

Committee members, including Yu Lixin, Li Ting, Wang Zhen, and Bian Yufang, shared insights based on their professional expertise and practical experience. The discussion covered the operation and development of elderly care institutions, the medical, nursing, and mental health needs of the elderly in a socialized care system, and the future direction of China’s elderly care system.
The workshop for women’s federation representatives was held before the learning session, during which they visited the Banbidian Elderly Care Home and gained deeper insight into community-based elderly care services, specifically home care services, accessibility for nearby families, and the integration of medical and nursing services. Special attention was given to elderly-friendly facilities, standardized service protocols, and the role these services play in grassroots social governance. Attendees expressed their commitment to integrating policy proposals with pilot projects, aligning their responsibilities as federation members with their professional expertise, and pooling resources to jointly advance elderly care development in Beijing.
The meeting was chaired by Zhang Yajun, Vice Chairperson of the Beijing Municipal CPPCC’s Committee on Social and Legal Affairs and President of the Beijing Women’s Federation. Li Fuying, Vice Chairperson of the Beijing Municipal CPPCC’s Committee on Social and Legal Affairs, along with members of the Third Study Group and representatives from women’s federations, also attended.
