BWF Holds 2025 Work Conference on Family and Children
Date:2025-2-28 14:58:03 Views:On February 27, the Beijing Women’s Federation (BWF) convened the 2025 Work Conference on Family and Children at Beijing Family School, aiming to advance the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC)’s reform directive to “improve mechanisms that strengthen the role of family, family education, and family values in grassroots social governance” and to implement the priorities outlined at the third plenary session of the 13th Executive Committee of the All-China Women’s Federation (ACWF) concerning family and children’s affairs.
Focused on strategizing and mobilizing efforts for family and children-related initiatives in the coming year, the conference was attended by over 60 representatives, including members from district-level women’s federations, the Women’s Working Commission directly under the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, the Women’s Working Commission of the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, women’s federations of universities and internet companies, women’s working committees of industry associations and chambers of commerce, and affiliated social organizations of the BWF.
At the conference, the BWF emphasized the central role of family, family education, and family values in grassroots governance, outlining a comprehensive plan for family and children-related initiatives. This plan includes promoting family-oriented cultural values, strengthening family education, enhancing family services, and advancing research on family-related issues, detailing the annual work plan, key tasks, and objectives. Additionally, the BWF provided a detailed introduction to the year-round public participation program, “Most Beautiful Family Values Enrich Thousands of Households,” to promote cultural and ethical progress, encouraging broad societal participation in fostering family values through activities such as citywide collection of exemplary family stories and the launch of diverse and innovative thematic events.
During the discussion session, representatives from the Women’s Federations of Chaoyang, Shunyi, and Huairou Districts shared their experiences and insights on the development of family values, family education, and the Spring Bud Project, serving as examples for other regions to follow and achieve common progress.
Chen Yanping, a member of the leading Party members group and Vice President of the BWF, attended and addressed the conference. She emphasized the need to deepen understanding of reform tasks, strengthen the role of families in grassroots governance, and set clear priorities for future work. She also called on women’s federations across districts and systems to strengthen their commitment, uphold their responsibilities, and advance their initiatives to meet national benchmark standards. Furthermore, she highlighted the importance of ensuring that family, family education, and family values continue to play a vital role in grassroots governance.
