The conference aimed to advance volunteer family initiatives, effectively serve and unite the public, promote participation in primary-level governance, and strive for the high-quality development of women’s volunteer services throughout the city. Du Chunxiao, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice President of the BWF, attended and addressed the meeting. Relevant leaders and officials responsible for women’s volunteer work from the Women’s Federations of each district, along with representatives from the Working Committee on Women of Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, and other key volunteer service members were also in attendance.
The meeting reviewed the significant achievements of the city’s women’s volunteer work in 2024 and outlined the key priorities for 2025. It was emphasized that Women’s Federation organizations at all levels in the city must adopt a citywide integrated approach, accurately recognize the historical positioning of women’s volunteer service work, and explore ways to organically integrate the work of the Women’s Federation with volunteer services. Efforts should focus on expanding and strengthening volunteer families, enhancing professional volunteer services, promoting community-based women’s volunteer services, developing women’s volunteer service teams in the “three new” fields, and focusing on shaping the “Smile Beijing · Women’s Action” volunteer service brand.
The meeting highlighted 2025 Women’s Volunteer Service Month under “Smile Beijing · Women’s Action” initiative, calling on Women’s Federations at all levels to prioritize the most pressing, urgent, and essential services for women and children. Participants were encouraged to lead women volunteers and volunteer families in providing tangible and compassionate support. Key focus areas include family education and the promotion of family values, women’s legal awareness campaigns in villages and communities, science education for women, support for the elderly and children, assistance for marriage and childbirth, and care for new employment groups. Participants were called to implement the “Six Ones” women’s volunteer service actions, ensuring that women and children genuinely feel the Party’s care and the warmth of the Women’s Federation organizations.
