BWF Holds “Advancing with the Party on the New Journey, Women Achieving Success in the New Era” Women’s Achievements Celebration and Recognition Event in Beijing
Date:2025-3-8 10:48:29 Views:To honor advanced individuals, unite and guide women across Beijing in advancing in the new journey and achieve success in the new era, and contribute to Beijing’s efforts to take the lead in achieving socialist modernization, the Beijing Women’s Federation (BWF) held the “Advancing with the Party on the New Journey, Women Achieving Success in the New Era” to celebrate and recognize women’s achievements in Beijing on March 4 at the Lao She Theater.
The event was co-organized by the Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circles. Attendees include Feng Ling, Vice President, member of the Secretariat, and member of the leading Party members group of the All-China Women’s Federation (ACWF); Han Zirong, member of the leading Party members group of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Chairman of the Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circles; Liu Qinghua, Director of the Publicity Department of the ACWF; Zhang Yajun, Secretary of the leading Party members group and President of BWF; and Sun Qianbin, President and Editor-in-Chief of China Women’s News.
The event featured three segments: “Women’s Strength: Responsibility in the New Era,” “Blossoming Youth: Pursuing Dreams with Dedication,” and “Joining Hands for a Better Future.” It combined the recognition of outstanding individuals through showcases in the forms of video presentations, speeches by advanced individuals, interactive interviews, theatrical performances, and award ceremonies, vividly portraying how women are leading the way in shaping the future and contributing to Beijing’s Chinese-style modernization.
In “Women’s Strength: Responsibility in the New Era,” Li Yanmei, a recipient of the National March 8th Red-Banner Pacesetter honor, and her students delivered an engaging lesson on the pioneering contributions of female researchers in the biopharmaceutical field. Representatives from Beihang University’s National Key Laboratory of EMC and Protection, recognized as a National March 8th Red-Banner Collective, shared stories of female scientists dedicated to research, overcoming challenges, and bravely venturing into unexplored fields. Meanwhile, Lin Qiaoling and Wang Miao, both recipients of the National March 8th Red-Banner Pacesetter honor, recounted their efforts in advancing the Belt and Road Initiative.
In “Blossoming Youth: Pursuing Dreams with Dedication,” Li Li, a recipient of the National March 8th Red-Banner Pacesetter honor, joined Xiaomi Group’s Party Committee—recognized as a National March 8th Red-Banner Collective—as well as iQIYI’s Film Planning Team and Corporate Social Responsibility Team in a dialogue with an AI robot about the future. The discussion highlighted the role of enterprises and individuals in the three new fields in driving capital reform and development, fulfilling social responsibilities, and serving the capital’s residents.
Meanwhile, Beijing Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital of the Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital Affiliated with Capital Medical University, also recognized as a National March 8th Red-Banner Collective, staged the musical Cradle of Life, illustrating its motto of “Virtue, Love, Excellence, and Diligence” and its commitment to fostering a society that supports childbirth and parenting. Jiang Li, a recipient of the National March 8th Red-Banner Pacesetter honor, shared heartfelt stories from the ICU, reflecting healthcare professionals’ deep respect and care for life.
In “Joining Hands for a Better Future,” the Business Department at Bank of Beijing’s Zhongguancun Branch and the Residents’ Committee of Huajiadi Beili Community in Chaoyang District—both recognized as National March 8th Red-Banner Collectives—showcased the joyful lives of children growing up in a child-friendly city. Yi Ran, a recipient of the National March 8th Red-Banner Pacesetter honor, played the role of a loving mother leading community efforts to organize childcare programs during winter and summer breaks and provide care and support for children in need to ensure their healthy development. Meanwhile, Zhang Xiaohuan, also a recipient of the National March 8th Red-Banner Pacesetter honor, led her team in recreating their moments of valor and triumph at the Olympic Games.
The event also featured joint performances by renowned opera artists Wei Chunrong, Wang Hongling, Wang Ping, and Sha Fei, all past honorees receiving awards by the ACWF. Faculty and students from Capital Normal University’s College of Education, recognized as a National March 8th Red-Banner Collective, and Children’s Palace of Beijing, recognized as a Beijing March 8th Red-Banner Collective, also presented dance and musical performances.
During the event, leaders in attendance presented awards to recipients of the National March 8th Red-Banner Pacesetter honor, the National March 8th Red-Banner Collective title, and the National Civilized Women’s Post honor, recognizing their contributions as advanced role models. The 2025 Beijing March 8th Red-Banner Medal and Collective Honor Roll were also announced.
The event concluded with a heartfelt performance of My People, My Country, sung by Wu Bixia, a recipient of the National March 8th Red-Banner Pacesetter honor, together with her daughter Chuntian, and students from the China Conservatory of Music. Women across the capital will continue to take concrete actions as builders of great causes, advocates of cultural progress, and determined pursuers of their dreams. With renewed passion and dedication, they will continue to contribute women’s wisdom and strength to advancing Beijing’s Chinese-style modernization.
Leaders from the co-organizing institutions, various state commissions, offices, and bureaus, as well as district governments and award recipient organizations, attended the event. Also present were members of the CPPCC Beijing Municipal Committee, leaders from women’s federations at the city and district levels, executive committee members of women’s federations, and award-winning individuals.
