On May 11, the Beijing Women’s Federation (BWF), in collaboration with the Beijing Municipal Discipline Inspection Commission of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Organization Department of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPC, the Publicity Department of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPC, the Office of Beijing Civic Enhancement Committee, the Committee for Organizations Directly under the Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPC, the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, and the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, held the launch ceremony for the “Beautiful Family Traditions Nourish Every Home” 2025 Family Values and Education Awareness Month. Among those in attendance were leaders from the organizing units, including Zhang Yajun, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the BWF and President of the BWF; He Qun, Deputy Party Secretary and Level I Bureau Rank Official of the Committee for Organizations Directly under the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee; Zhao Hongwei, Member of the Party Leadership Group of the BWF and Vice-President of the BWF; Gu Min, Chairperson of the Federation of Trade Unions of Beijing for Organizations Directly under the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, Director of the Beijing Municipal Women and Children Committee and Level II Bureau Rank Official; others attending the event included representatives from the women’s federations in each district, universities and internet enterprises, women and children’s work committees in industry associations, chambers of commerce, and social organizations, and families in Beijing—approximately 150 participants in total.

Xiao Yi, who shoulders the mission of serving as a police officer of three generations, Xu Dong, an inheritor of the Beijing style cheongsam, and Tianye’s family, who are committed to inheriting red culture (culture with a modern revolutionary legacy), shared their stories of excellent family traditions.

A parent-child runway show of traditional Chinese attire was presented by family representatives from Songzhuang Town in Tongzhou District, showcasing the efforts of community-level women’s federation in guiding family tradition building through aesthetic education.

An original stage play titled A New Harmony at Home used vivid performances to communicate modern concepts of equality, mutual respect, civility, and harmonious relationships in the family and in marriage.

The Beijing Women’s Federation, in partnership with the Beijing Municipal Discipline Inspection Commission of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Organization Department of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPC, the Committee for Organizations Directly under the Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPC, and the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, also released an urban exploration route of clean and honest family traditions, themed “A Breeze of Integrity, A Legacy of Family”.

The route links 28 landmark sites representing integrity-themed family values, along with recommended stops along the way and nearby attractions. The initiative encourages Party members and government officials to take part in these experiences as part of weekend family activities, immersing themselves in the rich culture of integrity that underpins the capital, and fostering a clean Party, clean governance, and a healthy social environment through strengthened family values.

Leaders from the organizing units jointly launch the 2025 Family Values and Education Awareness Month.

Attendees explore the Family Values Market, engaging in interactive activities that provide a deeper understanding of the diverse cultural content of family values.

As of today, the “Most Beautiful Works on Family Values” public submission platform is officially open. Citizens, families, and organizations from all walks of life are invited to submit their stories, innovative cases in family tradition building, and creative cultural works. The Beijing Women’s Federation will review, promote, and showcase selected entries at the end of the year, encouraging the broad public to carry forward exemplary family values and collectively foster a positive social atmosphere through the strength of millions of exemplary households.
