Let’s Build Dreams with a Childlike Heart Together – 2025 “Our City” Beijing Urban Planning Public Awareness Campaign and Child-Friendly Achievements Release Successfully Held
Date:2025-5-30 10:17:14 Views:As the 2025 International Children’s Day approaches, the “Let’s Build Dreams with a Childlike Heart Together – 2025 ‘Our City’ Beijing Urban Planning Public Awareness Campaign and Child-Friendly Achievements Release” was successfully held at the Beijing Planning Exhibition Hall. The event was co-hosted by the Beijing Municipal Commission of Planning and Natural Resources and the Office of Beijing Municipal Working Committee on Children and Women.
The event showcased the “Our City” initiative, which encourages public participation in building a child-friendly city through urban planning knowledge popularization. It also marked the opening of the “Future Junior Planners” Children’s Urban Planning Model Exhibition and a series of science education activities at the Beijing Planning Exhibition Hall. Additionally, the event featured the official release of the Guidelines for Building Child-Friendly Communities in Beijing, a policy document developed by the Office of the Beijing Municipal Working Committee on Children and Women.
Yang Jun, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Planning and Natural Resources, and Zhang Ningyu, Vice Chairwoman of the Beijing Women’s Federation, attended the event and delivered speeches. They expressed the hope that through the continued implementation of the “Our City” urban planning public awareness campaign and the release of the Guidelines for Building Child-Friendly Communities in Beijing, the concept of child-friendly development would be further translated into practice, therefore gradually turning the vision into reality.
Children from Dongcheng, Xicheng, Chaoyang, and Haidian districts, as well as the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, shared real-life stories of how urban planning science outreach and the child-friendly city concept inspired their participation in urban planning and community construction. The event was attended by more than 50 representatives, including experts in urban planning, women and children’s affairs, education, science popularization, and public communications, as well as officials from government agencies, social organizations, and enterprises.
