Since its official establishment in April 2025, the Womens Work Committee of the Beijing Hongdie Home Volunteer Service Promotion Center for Women and Children has remained dedicated to its core mission to lead, to serve, and to connect.

With a focus on two central goals—safeguarding children’s development and building a nurturing support network, as well as strengthening family values and cultivating positive traditions at home—the Committee’s work centers on nurturing the healthy development of children while tapping into the full potential of women’s strength. Through a wide array of themed initiatives ranging from science education and emotional well-being to family values, the Committee strives to act as a beacon of guidance, protection, and empowerment for the next generation.

As part of its effort to foster family civility, the Committee hosted a themed session titled “Cultivating Exemplary Family Traditions, Education, and Legacies.” The session addressed key concerns and common challenges in family education by combining expert theoretical insights with real-life case studies, introducing parents to evidence-based parenting philosophies and practical approaches aimed at instilling strong values and a healthy outlook on life in their children.

In the area of care and assistance, the Committee launched the “Fulfilling Small Wishes, Bringing Joy on Children’s Day” campaign. Female volunteers, “caring mothers,” and other community members were invited to pair with children in need—especially those left behind in rural areas or from disadvantaged backgrounds. Through heartwarming initiatives such as “Big Hands Hold Little Hands” and “Building Bonds Through Care,” volunteers helped fulfill the children’s small but meaningful wishes, bringing not only joy but also genuine emotional warmth that give the children a memorable day.

To promote science education, the Committee organized a special session titled “AI with PhD Big Sis” for children in rural communities. Through vivid, real-world demonstrations, the session introduced the basic principles and practical applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in drone technology. Children learned how AI enables drones to carry out complex tasks, expanding their understanding of science and inspiring curiosity about frontier technologies.

Looking ahead, the Committee plans to further leverage the unique strengths of its volunteer base, integrate professional resources, innovate service delivery models, and develop high-quality programs to ensure that care and support services for women and children remain both responsive and sustainable in meeting the community’s needs.
