Date:2025-6-25 9:38:24 Views:To thoroughly implement Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy and improve Beijing’s role as a center for international exchanges, while effectively enhancing the professional capacity of women engaged in foreign affairs in the capital, the 10th Training Program on Enhancing Women's People-to-people Diplomacy Competence in Beijing was successfully held on June 20. Jointly organized by the Beijing Women’s Federation(BWF) and the Beijing Foreign Affairs Office, the training gathered around 80 participants, including foreign affairs officers from the city’s women’s federations, representatives from all 16 districts and the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, as well as delegates from the Capital Women and Children’s Development Base. Lei Xiaoning, Member of the Party Leadership Group of the BWF, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech to mobilize the participants.
The training curriculum was closely aligned with the practical needs of foreign affairs work and accurately addressed the pressing requirements of the Capital Women and Children’s Development Base. It covered three main dimensions—ideology, foreign affairs etiquette, and media communication—and included a special video-based learning session focused on implementing the Eight-point Regulation of the Central Committee and its detailed implementation rules.
During the sessions, Li Yanyan, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at University of Science and Technology Beijing, provided a systematic interpretation of the current key points in ideological work and strategies for managing online ideological work. Yuan Li, Dean of the School of International Education at the China Foreign Affairs University, gave a detailed explanation of the core principles and characteristics of diplomatic protocol and etiquette, as well as practical operational norms in specific international exchange scenarios. She also offered targeted guidance on service support for the bases’ participation in foreign affairs activities. Wu Baoli, Vice President of China Women’s Magazine, vividly shared methodologies and practical experience of telling the stories of Chinese women, and combined with specific cases from the Capital Women and Children’s Development Base to propose communication strategies aimed at enhancing international influence.
Participants generally reported that the training was intensive, with experienced instructors delivering courses featuring both theoretical and practical guidance. Through the training, they gained a clearer understanding of the mission and responsibilities of women’s people-to-people diplomacy in the capital and clarified their direction, achieving substantial gains. Participants expressed their commitment to transforming what they have learned into momentum for mentoring and support, actively playing a demonstrative and leading role, shouldering the responsibility of promoting the construction of women and children’s development bases across districts, and positively advancing the development of Beijing as an international exchange center alongside the high-quality women’s and children’s development.
As an important component of the Beijing Foreign Affairs Office’s Talent Training Program for Building the International Exchange Center Function, the Training Program on Enhancing Women’s People-to-people Diplomacy Competence in Beijing aims to empower the women’s foreign affairs workforce and promote the high-quality development of women’s people-to-people diplomacy in the capital. This training session was jointly organized by the Beijing Women’s International Center and the Beijing Women Cadres School.
