BWF Kicks Off “Warmth for Women in the Three New Sectors” Cultural Tour
Date:2025-6-17 9:45:39 Views:On June 14, the Beijing Women’s Federation (BWF) officially launched its 2025 “Warmth for Women in the Three New Sectors” Cultural Tour with an opening ceremony held at the Former Residence of Soong Ching Ling in Beijing. The event brought together more than 60 participants from 30 families, spanning all 16 districts of the capital as well as the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area.
In her speech, Zhao Hongwei, Deputy Secretary of the Leading Party Members Group and Vice President of the BWF, emphasized the organization’s recent efforts to support women in the three new sectors (new economic organizations, new social organizations, and new forms of employment) by fostering innovative thinking, delivering targeted services, showcasing role models, and advancing empowerment programs.
For 2025, BWF is integrating a range of resources to roll out the Beijing “New Warmth” code, develop a service platform for women and children in Beijing, and upgrade inclusive service spaces such as the “Yigangwan” Service Hub and the “New Warmth Corner.” These efforts aim to establish a service model characterized by “one code, one platform, and multiple service stations.” Moving forward, BWF will continue to leverage its network-building strengths to deliver more thoughtful and customized services for women and families in the three new sectors.
As part of the event, six children representing families from the three new sectors unveiled a cultural tour map in the form of a puzzle, offering an engaging introduction to the upcoming activities in the tour series. Their imaginative presentation was met with enthusiastic applause from the participating families. To further promote the values of civility and respectful travel, family representatives from the three new sectors read aloud a Civil Conduct Convention, demonstrating the positive spirit and civic responsibility of their communities.
Following the opening ceremony, participating families toured the Former Residence of Soong Ching Ling. Guided by professional docents, they gained a deeper understanding of Soong Ching Ling’s extraordinary life and her outstanding contributions to the cause of women and children. The historical artifacts and archival materials on display left a profound impression. Many families expressed a deep sense of inspiration and a shared commitment to carrying forward the legacy of their predecessors and to contributing to social progress in their own ways.
The cultural tour series will lead families from the three new sectors on a range of immersive experiences: strolling through the Forbidden City to connect with the legacy of Chinese civilization, exploring the Zhoukoudian site in Fangshan to trace the origins of humanity, stepping into theaters to discover the beauty of the performing arts, visiting Peking University to absorb its rich academic and cultural atmosphere, and engaging with law firms to gain firsthand insight into the rule of law.
Through these thoughtfully curated activities, the BWF aims to deliver more thoughtful and tailored services to women in the three new sectors, ensuring they feel the care and support offered by their trusted home organization.
