On the morning of July 18, the Beijing Women’s Federation’s 2025 “Warmth for Women in the Three New Sectors” cultural tour reached its third stop as planned. Families from the “Three New” sectors across 16 districts and the Economic Development Zone of the city gathered with excitement at the UNESCO World Heritage Site—the Zhoukoudian Peking Man Site Museum—to embark on a journey through time and explore the origins of human civilization.

The event officially commenced in the museum’s introductory hall. With the theme of “Exploring the Peking Man Site, Tracing the Origins of Human Civilization,” the host introduced the activity’s content and its significance to the participating families from the “Three New” sectors. Attendees were also invited to revisit the shared guidelines for parent-child cultural tours. Guided by the docent, they were first captivated by the large reconstructed statue of “Peking Man” in the center of the hall. A dynamic sand table demonstration then brought the ancient world to life, gradually unfolding before their eyes.

The visiting families were captivated by the rich and varied exhibitions throughout the museum. Children gathered around display cases, eagerly listening as the docent explained how the Zhoukoudian site was discovered. The recreated scenes of prehistoric life amazed them, while multimedia interactions and hands-on exhibits kept them engaged, making them reluctant to leave.

After the tour, many families from the “Three New” sectors expressed that the activity not only deepened their understanding of human origins but also enriched their appreciation of cultural heritage through parent-child interactions. This cultural journey provided an opportunity for gaining knowledge and celebrating the transmission of culture, creating a deeply moving experience. It enabled families to share and treasure the story of human origins, passing the flame of civilization from one generation to the next. This experience vividly reflected the essence of tracing the origins of human civilization.

The next stop of the Beijing Women’s Federation’s “Warmth for Women in the Three New Sectors” cultural tour will take participants to the China National Theater for Children, where participants will experience the charm of theatrical arts.
