“Technology for Kids, Beijing & Hotan as One Family”—A Parent-Child Technology Exchange Brings Together Beijing and Hotan’s Most Beautiful Families
Date:2025-7-28 10:13:00 Views:To strengthen ties between families in Beijing and Hotan while promoting cultural integration and early education in science and technology, the Beijing Women’s Federation (BWF) held the “Technology for Kids, Beijing & Hotan as One Family—Parent-Child Exchange Among the Most Beautiful Families” at the Beijing Science Center on July 26, 2025.
The event brought together over 160 representatives from Beijing and Hotan’s “Most Beautiful Families.” Through science and technology experiences, talent showcases, cross-regional family pairings, and other interactive activities, the event fostered meaningful interactions and deepened mutual understanding, opening a new chapter in unity under the spirit of “one family.”
Since 2014, the BWF and the Hotan Women’s Federation (HWF) have worked together under the guiding principle of “complementary strengths, mutual benefit, and shared development,” advancing cooperation across multiple fields. As an important platform for family exchanges between the two regions, this event not only carried forward the spirit of “one family” embodied by the “Most Beautiful Families” initiative, but also brought renewed energy to parent-child engagement by using science and technology as a bridge.
Chen Yanping, a member of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Vice President of the BWF, and Ayixiamuguli Rexiti, Deputy Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and President of the HWF, attended the event and shared heartfelt messages with participating families. They emphasized that the strong ties between families from Beijing and Hotan reflect the deep bond between the two regions, and expressed their hope that such exchanges will continue to inspire the passing down of patriotism and strong family values from one generation to the next.
Talent Showcase
At the event, families from Beijing and Hotan took turns showcasing engaging performances, with Beijing families presenting traditional arts and Hotan families lighting up the stage with lively ethnic songs and dances. Each performance brimmed with strong patriotism and a deep passion for life, drawing waves of applause and cheers from the audience, and turning the showcase into a powerful expression of cultural integration between the two regions.
“Most Beautiful Families” Cross-Regional Pairing
One of the most heartfelt moments was the family pairing ceremony, where representatives from Beijing and Hotan’s “Most Beautiful Families” were matched as new friends. Children shared their joy in innocent voices—those from Xinjiang expressing their dreams of visiting Beijing, while their capital-based peers offered heartfelt welcomes. Families exchanged thoughtfully prepared gifts, such as ethnic ornaments and books filled with good wishes, transforming these tokens into lasting symbols of friendship between the two regions.
The BWF also handed out specially designed Let’s Be Friends!, a booklet featuring information about each family pairing, cultural trivia, and interactive challenge cards. It has not only helped guide the day’s interactions, but has also laid the groundwork for lasting connections, fostering a sense of siblinghood and shared growth among the families.
Science and Technology Show
The science and technology segment ignited children’s passion for discovery. Teachers from the Beijing Science Center delivered a lively “Science and Technology Show” featuring fun experiments and interactive demonstrations, giving children the chance to experience the wonders of science up close and inspiring a spirit of innovation in their young minds.
Immersive Learning
Following the ceremony, families from Beijing and Hotan participated in the interactive program “Microorganisms That Changed the World,” combining knowledge learning with hands-on activities. They also attended a cybersecurity awareness session, watched the awe-inspiring documentary Voyager: The Never-Ending Journey, and toured the Technology Central Axis Exhibition, where traditional culture meets modern science. These activities offered a fully immersive journey into the fascinating world of science and technology, leaving both children and adults inspired.
Centering on parent-child engagement and featuring science and technology experiences, the event deepened the emotional bonds between families from Beijing and Hotan while broadening children’s horizons. Looking ahead, both BWF and HWF will continue to advance family-level exchange and cooperation, ensuring that the legacy of the “Most Beautiful Families” lives on through meaningful interactions, and that the friendship between the people of both regions grows stronger for generations to come.
