On the morning of September 3, a grand ceremony was held in Tiananmen Square, Beijing, to mark the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. Through a magnificent military parade, the people of China joined the world in honoring this historic day and envisioning a brighter, shared future. Social organizations affiliated with the Beijing Women’s Federation watched the live broadcast on television and online platforms. Together, they witnessed this historic moment—one that embodies honor and dreams while symbolizing peace and justice. Let us now listen to their reflections…

Yang Liping: “The Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression was an arduous and extraordinary struggle. The peace and happiness we enjoy today were hard-won, attained through the blood and lives of countless martyrs. The grand military parade was deeply moving, with its well-ordered formations, advanced equipment, and spirited morale fully demonstrating the strength of our nation and armed forces. It vividly showcased China’s growing comprehensive power and defense capabilities. In my future work, I will turn my reverence for the martyrs into concrete actions. I will give full play to the Party branch’s role as a fighting bastion and to the exemplary role of Party members. Together with the broad membership of the Women’s Federation’s social organizations, I will actively dedicate myself to serving women and children and serving society. In doing so, I hope to contribute to social harmony and the well-being of families.”

Li Jie: “When I saw the marching formations stride in unison across Tiananmen Square, I deeply felt the discipline and steel-like will of the people’s army. In the equipment formations, the display of domestically produced active-duty main battle equipment, together with the debut of new combat forces, was truly impressive. I am filled with pride in the strength of our motherland. At the same time, I am keenly aware of the historical mission and responsibility before me. I must work even harder and contribute my efforts to the realization of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the Chinese Dream.”

Today, in this new era, our mountains and rivers stand safe, and our country thrives in peace and prosperity. Let us remember history, stay true to our mission, and revitalize China! As members of a public welfare foundation, we cherish the value of peace and fully recognize the weight of our responsibility. Moving forward, we will embody the spirit of the War of Resistance in our work and protect today’s peace through practical actions. In doing so, we will ensure that the heroic spirit continues to shine in the public welfare endeavors of this new era!”

Xiang Juping: “The General Secretary’s important speech at the commemorative conference profoundly emphasized the great significance of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. It also highlighted the Chinese people’s firm determination to defend peace and uphold justice. The advanced weaponry and equipment showcased in the parade further strengthened my sense of our motherland’s power. Each piece of equipment reflects the progress of our nation’s science and technology as well as the enhancement of our military power. This gives us both the confidence and capability to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity while contributing to global peace and stability.”

Eighty years ago, countless martyrs shed their blood and gave their lives to secure the peace and tranquility we enjoy today. In this new era, we live and thrive on the very land they defended with their lives. As a member of a social organization, I will remember history and honor the martyrs. I will also carry forward the spirit of the War of Resistance through practical action. I will do this by serving society, dedicating myself to the nation, and contributing my strength to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.”
