2025 National Training Program for Women in Science and Technology Concludes Successfully

To thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, as well as to carry out the key decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee and the Beijing Municipal Committee on talent development, Beijing continues to advance the “Women’s Action for Science and Technological Innovation” initiative. From September 23 to 25, the Beijing Women’s Federation, in collaboration with the Beijing Municipal Talent Work Bureau, the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, and the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee, jointly organized the 2025 National Training Program for Women in Science and Technology (Fifth Session). Sixty participants from government agencies, universities, hospitals, research institutes, new R&D institutions, and technology enterprises took part in the program. They represent the best in science and innovation, including leading talents, recipients of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, Young Changjiang Scholars, rising stars, and other young talents, as well as winners of honors such as the March 8th Red-Banner Medal. Zhao Hongwei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairwoman of the Beijing Women’s Federation, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a mobilization speech.

Training Session

This training program was tailored to the development needs of women in science and technology. Officials from the Beijing Municipal Talent Work Bureau and the Municipal Science and Technology Commission provided detailed explanations on city-wide talent policies and the development of Beijing as an international science and technology innovation center, helping participants understand the overall plan. Experts and scholars from institutions such as the Party School of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and the Institute of Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences delivered thematic lectures. Through theoretical study, on-site teaching, group discussions, and innovation salons, participants broadened their horizons, deepened their understanding of the nation, the city, and the scientific landscape, and sparked wisdom through exchanges.

Diao Linlin, director of the Decision-Making and Consultation Department at the Party School of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee (Beijing Administration Institute), delivered a lecture on “Studying and Implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s Important Speeches on Beijing and Promoting the High-Quality Development of the Capital.”

Zhang Deliang, a researcher at the Institute of Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered a lecture on “Promoting and Inheriting the Spirit of People’s Scientist Qian Xuesen.”

Li Ping, Party Secretary of the Beijing Science and Technology Innovation Promotion Center, Zhongguancun Administrative Committee of the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, delivered a lecture on “Building an International Science and Technology Innovation Center.”

Du Yining, Deputy Director of the Talent Service Division of the Beijing Municipal Talent Work Bureau, delivered a lecture on “Interpretation of Beijing’s Talent Policies.”

An Jing, Chief Physician of Beijing Huilongguan Hospital, delivered a lecture on “Awareness of Her Power: Women’s Mental Health and Self-Care.”

Zou Lina, Ph.D. in Education from the Faculty of Psychology at Beijing Normal University and member of the Youth Committee of the Chinese Psychological Society, delivered a lecture on “Theoretical Development and Skills in Parent-Child Communication.”

 

During the on-site teaching session, participants visited Beijing Benz Automotive Co., Ltd. and COFCO Coca-Cola Beverages (Beijing) Co., Ltd. They closely observed operations, engaged in lively discussions, learned about the application of cutting-edge technologies and the latest industry trends, and experienced firsthand how the deep integration of industry, academia, and research is driving the development of new quality productive forces.

On-Site Teaching

During the group discussion session, participants actively spoke and shared their views. Drawing on their own work experiences and the current research environment faced by women, they held in-depth discussions on how women can take on a more significant role in scientific research, strengthen collaboration, and promote the translation of research outcomes.

Group Discussions

During the innovation salon session, representatives included Gao Fei from Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Xu Yuan from Qiyuan Laboratory, Wu Ting from the Beijing Institute for Brain Sciences and Brain-Inspired Intelligence, Li Linxiao from Beijing Keyoris Technology Co., Ltd., Zhang Zhonglili from the Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences, and Yang Yixuan from Dongfang Jingyuan Microelectronics Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. They shared insights from their respective fields of research and development trends, highlighting how women can align with the “Four Orientations,” actively contribute to scientific innovation, and integrate personal aspirations into the nations development.

Innovation Salon Session

The program offered a comprehensive and well-structured curriculum with flexible and diverse training formats, earning unanimous praise from the participants. They stated that the training strengthened their confidence and determination to pursue innovation and entrepreneurship. In future scientific research, they will carry forward the spirit of scientists, remain true to their mission, and forge ahead, contributing women’s wisdom to the high-quality development of the capital and the accelerated establishment of an international science and technology innovation center.
