Leaders from the Beijing Women’s Federation (BWF) and the Party Committee of Beijing Sports Organizations came together with over 60 female representatives from various sports associations. They gathered to witness this milestone moment in the development of women in the sports sector.
At the meeting, Yao Qiang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Beijing Sports Organizations, announced the official approval for the establishment of the Women’s Committee of Beijing Sports Organizations. He emphasized the committee’s importance and necessity and expressed high expectations for its future work.
The Beijing Women’s Federation and the Party Committee of Beijing Sports Organizations jointly unveiled the nameplate of the new committee. Shi Fenghua, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Beijing Municipal Sports Bureau, as well as the newly appointed Director of the Women’s Committee of Beijing Sports Organizations, delivered a speech. She stated that the committee will focus on ideological and political guidance, professional skills training, rights protection and related services, as well as cultural and sports exchange activities. It will steadily work to establish the committee as a warm and vibrant “home for women.”
Zhao Hongwei, Deputy Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Vice-President of the BWF, warmly congratulated the committee on its establishment. She expressed gratitude to the Party Committee of Beijing Sports Organizations for its active support of women’s initiatives. She also expressed hope that the new committee would play a strong bridging and unifying role. She added that it should inspire women in the sports sector to contribute to the capital’s high-quality development.
The establishment of the Women’s Committee of Beijing Sports Organizations encompasses 127 organizations under the Sports Bureau and relevant industry associations. It provides women in the sports sector with a warm and supportive “home.” Participants were highly encouraged and expressed their commitment to actively engage in the committee’s work. They aim to contribute to the development of both Beijing’s sports sector and women’s initiatives. Looking ahead, the committee will refine its annual work plan, expand the reach of its activities, and continue integrating resources to deliver higher-quality services for women in the sports industry.
