The Beijing Women’s “Shangxinjie” brand event, titled “Dramatizing Time, Sharing Life Stories,” was recently held at the Fanxing Theatre Village. Organized by the Beijing Women’s Federation, the event was undertaken by the Beijing Women’s Association for International Exchange and the Beijing Tonghe Industry Development Advisory Service Center, with support from the Women’s Federation of Fanxing Theatre Village. Lei Xiaoning, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairperson of the Beijing Women’s Federation, attended the gathering.
Female representatives from emerging social sectors, including media, law, agriculture, science and technology, and culture and the arts, came together at the event. Using theatre as a medium, they reflected on personal growth, connected with one another, and shared their life stories.
Centered on the theme “Dramatizing Time, Sharing Life Stories,” the event seamlessly blended interactive theater with annual storytelling. It featured immersive visits, story-sharing sessions, improvisational performances, and wish-writing activities, all designed to foster connection and collective inspiration through collaboration.
During the “Theatre Awakens: Recalling the Year” segment, guests explored the distinctive spaces of the theatre village, beginning a warm reunion amid a rich artistic atmosphere. In the “Meeting New Friends” segment, participants introduced themselves in groups based on their “2025 Life Tickets,” with five guests from media, agriculture, science and technology, and legal sectors sharing their stories and reflections from the past year.
The “Dramatizing Our 2025” segment saw groups collaborate on improvisational theatre performances, creating “living sculptures” to envision the year ahead. During the “Drawing Wishes: Embarking on a New Journey” segment, guests posted their New Year wishes on the “Shangxin Time Wheel,” symbolizing their hopes for the future.
The event further expanded the networking space for women from emerging social groups, strengthening communication ties, and enhancing collaborative momentum.
“Shangxinjie” is a signature program of the Beijing Women’s Federation aimed at engaging and serving women from emerging social groups. Focusing on ideological guidance, capacity building, and emotional connection, the program employs innovative approaches to inspire women to cultivate a positive outlook, self-confidence, and care for others. It serves as a platform for shared values and mutual understanding, uniting and guiding women from emerging social groups to contribute their strengths and pursue their aspirations in the new era.
