On January 14, the 2026 Women’s Rights-Protection Conference of the Beijing Women’s Federation system was held at the Shunyi District 12338 Women’s Federation Rights-Protection Service Center. The meeting conveyed the latest instructions and work requirements of the All-China Women’s Federation (ACWF) on rights-protection, reviewed and summarized the experiences and achievements of women’s rights-protection work across the city, and studied and deployed key tasks for 2026. The conference aimed to further unify thinking, build consensus, clarify directions, and provide guidance and support for advancing women’s rights-protection work in the capital in the new year.

Zhang Ningyu, Vice-President of the Beijing Women’s Federation, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. More than 40 participants were present, including officials from the Rights-Protection Department of the Beijing Women’s Federation, as well as vice presidents responsible for rights-protection and heads of rights-protection departments from district-level women’s federations.

The meeting studied and conveyed the key points of the ACWF’s special online conference on women’s rights protection. In line with the implementation of these guidelines, the Rights-Protection Department of the Beijing Women’s Federation systematically deployed the city’s major tasks for 2026. In her concluding remarks, Vice Chairperson Zhang Ningyu noted that 2026 marks the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the opening year of the 15th Five-Year Plan, and the starting year of the Ninth Five-Year Program for Legal Awareness and Education. She emphasized that women’s federations at all levels and rights-protection cadres across the city must adhere to Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, fully implement the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and its subsequent plenary sessions, study and apply General Secretary Xi Jinping’s keynote speech at the Global Leaders Meeting on Women, and conscientiously carry out the work arrangements of the ACWF and the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, so as to elevate women’s rights-protection work to a new level.

She further stressed the need to fully recognize the critical importance of women’s rights-protection in the current context, effectively strengthen political responsibility and a sense of mission, confront existing challenges head-on, address shortcomings with a problem-oriented approach, and consolidate efforts to advance women’s rights-protection work in 2026, thereby promoting the high-quality development of rights-protection services.

Participants also conducted a collective on-site visit to study the construction and operation of the Shunyi District 12338 Women’s Federation Rights-Protection Service Center. Vice presidents responsible for rights protection from various districts exchanged insights on their respective district-level distinctive practices and innovative initiatives. All participants agreed that the meeting was pragmatic and efficient, helping to clarify ideas and directions and define tasks and responsibilities. They expressed their commitment to thoroughly implement the spirit of the meeting, approach their work with greater enthusiasm, adopt a more down-to-earth work style, and take more effective measures, forging ahead with determination and diligence.

Together, they pledged to promote new achievements in women’s rights protection in the capital, contribute women’s strength to social harmony and stability in Beijing, and support the city’s high-quality development.
