To commemorate International Women’s Day and unite the strength of women across the capital, the Beijing Women’s Federation held the 2026 International Women’s Day exchange and networking event for women’s organizations of democratic parties and affiliated groups on the afternoon of March 10 at the Beijing Women and Children’s Service Center, under the theme “Together in Solidarity, Women in Full Bloom.”

Zhang Ningyu, Vice Chairwoman of the Beijing Women’s Federation, attended the event and delivered remarks. Leaders of women’s committees and outstanding female representatives from the eight democratic parties, the All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots, the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce gathered for the occasion to celebrate their shared achievements and discuss their responsibilities and contributions in the new era.

On behalf of the Beijing Women’s Federation, Zhang Ningyu extended festive greetings to women from all participating parties and groups. She noted that over the past year, women from these organizations have demonstrated remarkable strength and dedication in areas such as participation in state affairs and social services.

With the launch of the 15th Five-Year Plan period approaching, she expressed hope that women’s committees across the various parties and organizations would focus on the evolving needs and aspirations of women, children, and families; leverage their unique strengths in intellectual resources and organizational networks; and actively align their efforts with the broader work of the women’s federation. Through these efforts, they can jointly contribute wisdom and strength to the high-quality development of programs for women and children in the capital.

During the event, women representatives from the various parties and organizations showcased their talents through a rich variety of performances, including singing, lively dance, traditional instrumental music, heartfelt recitations, humorous xiangsheng (comic dialogue), and elegant tea ceremony demonstrations. These performances vividly reflected the confidence, vitality, and positive spirit of women in the capital in the new era.

The event concluded with an interactive cultural experience in which participants created small horse ornaments using Song brocade, an item of intangible cultural heritage. Through this hands-on activity, participants immersed themselves in the distinctive charm of China’s outstanding traditional culture while celebrating the festive occasion together.

Many attendees remarked that the event not only provided a welcome opportunity to relax and connect but also allowed them to feel the care and warmth extended by the women’s federation. They expressed their commitment to continuing to work together in solidarity, contributing women’s strength to the capital’s high-quality development, and writing new chapters of achievement and brilliance in the journey of the new era.
