On the morning of July 29, the second event of the Beijing Women’s Federation’s 2026 “Warm Beijing, Warm You” Family Cultural Tour for Emerging Sectors was successfully held at the Grand Canal Museum of Beijing in Tongzhou District. Over 50 participants from 25 families across emerging sectors in the city gathered for the event. Themed “Exploring Urban Transformation, Embracing the Future Together,” the tour offered a cultural journey that seamlessly blends historical and cultural heritage with modern urban landscapes.

Guided by a professional docent, the families first visited the Grand Canal Museum of Beijing, an important cultural landmark that records a millennium of waterway civilization. Leveraging the exhibits as a narrative thread, the docent traced the canal’s history of excavation and its cultural evolution. The children showed great interest, actively asking questions and interacting throughout the visit.

The group then took a guided bus tour through the core area of the Beijing Sub-Center. They visited landmarks such as the Beijing Library, the Canal Business District, and the Grand Canal Forest Park. As parents and children listened to the docent explain the development of the Beijing Sub-Center, they witnessed firsthand the city’s dramatic transformation and growth. Participants spoke highly of the well-organized itinerary, noting that the trip not only broadened the children’s horizons but also gave them a tangible understanding of the Beijing Sub-Center’s development, making it a valuable opportunity for shared family learning.

This themed visit to the Beijing Sub-Center marks the second stop of the 2026 “Warm Beijing, Warm You” Family Cultural Tour for Emerging Sectors organized by the Beijing Women’s Federation. The follow-up events will continue to diversify in both content and format, bringing richer cultural experiences to women and families in emerging sectors across Beijing.
