On September 13, as one of the key events of the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), the 2026 e-CNY Technology and Application Forum & Seminar on Beijing’s Construction of a Global Digital Economy Benchmark City was held at Shougang Park in Beijing. During the forum, the Heatmap of Female Fashion Consumption in Beijing—a study led by the Business College of Beijing Union University with research collaboration from the Beijing Women's Development Research Center, was officially released. Zhou Zhijun, Secretary of the Leading Party Members Group and President of the Beijing Women’s Federation, attended the event and delivered remarks.

Zhou Zhijun congratulated the successful convening of the forum and expressed sincere gratitude to all sectors of society that care about and support the development of women’s and children’s causes in Beijing.

She noted that the Heatmap of Female Fashion Consumption in Beijing presents Beijing’s progress in building an international consumption center city and a global digital economy benchmark city into a searchable and comparable heatmap. It not only captures the profound transformation of consumption structures in the new era but also takes “SHE power” as a lens to illustrate women’s pivotal role in the capital’s consumer market and digital economy, as well as their active contributions to the capital’s modernization. The heatmap reflects women’s aspirations for a better life in the new era and serves as a valuable practical reference.

Zhou Zhijun emphasized that this year marks the beginning of the 15th Five-Year Plan period. As a bridge linking the Party and government with women, the Beijing Women’s Federation stands ready to work with all sectors of society to seize digital development opportunities, focus on priority areas of the 15th Five-Year Development Plan for Women and Children, and continuously improve the development environment for women and children through digital empowerment. It will partner with multiple departments to launch the Beijing Action Plan for Financial Support for Women’s Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Employment, strengthening financial services to support women’s innovation, entrepreneurship, and employment. It will further build up the distinctive brand of female OPC entrepreneurship, unleashing women’s potential and advancing Beijing’s development as a global digital benchmark city. Furthermore, it will uphold the principle of co-construction and shared benefits by embedding the “child-first” approach throughout public policy-making, public infrastructure construction and service delivery to advance child-friendly city development. Moreover, it will rally collaborative efforts to deeply integrate women’s development into the overall development strategy of the capital, empowering women to grow and succeed.

Zhou Zhijun added that the Beijing Women’s Federation is preparing to establish the Better Life Academy Alliance and warmly welcomes broad participation from all sectors of society. She expressed hope that academic experts and representatives from various fields would incorporate a gender-equality perspective throughout digital innovation, financial development and urban construction, ensuring that the outcomes of digital development benefit all women more equitably and continuously contributing female strength to the capital’s high-quality development.

Guests from Beijing municipal government agencies, mass organizations, universities, research institutes, industry associations and enterprises engaged in in-depth exchanges on the topics of the forum.
