To thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building and General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches concerning work in Beijing, put into effect the major decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee concerning talent development-related work, strengthen political guidance for female science and technology workers, and raise the scientific and technological literacy of young cadres of women's federations, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Talent Work, the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Science Park and the Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) jointly organized the 2026 Beijing Training Program for Women in Science and Technology and Young Officials of the Beijing Women's Federation from September 21 to 23, 2026. Over 90 participants, including female science and technology workers from various sectors in Beijing and young cadre representatives from women's federations, took part in the training program. Zhou Zhijun, Secretary of the Leading Party Members Group and President of the Beijing Women's Federation, attended the opening ceremony and delivered an opening speech. Zhao Hongwei, Deputy Secretary of the Party leadership group and Vice President of the BWF and First-Level Inspector, was present at the closing ceremony and gave a training summary.

Comrade Zhou Zhijun noted at the opening ceremony that hosting the study program constitutes an important measure to foster female science and technology workers, as well as a banner for pooling "She Power". She encouraged science and technology workers to keep the "nation's fundamental priorities" firmly in mind, deliver solid work on their positions, orient scientific research objectives toward meeting the people's aspiration for a better life, translate research efforts into human-centered care and services for public wellbeing, and embody such goals in happy moments within families. She urged young cadres to grow alongside artificial intelligence, reflect deeply on supply-side changes brought by scientific and technological transformation, identify appropriate entry points for their work, and jointly deliver tangible outcomes for the Women's Action for Scientific and Technological Innovation. She stated that the BWF will continue to provide substantive services for supporting female workers, implement talent policies, build development platforms, and make earnest efforts in liaisons, services and support, empowering female science and technology workers in the development of the Beijing (Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei) International Center for Science and Technology Innovation.

Innovative Model: Two-Way Interaction for Integrated Study

The training program adopted an innovative integrated model under which female science and technology workers as well as young cadres of women's federations studied and exchanged ideas together. Relevant officials from the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Talent Work and the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission gave special briefings on Beijing's talent policies and the development of the Beijing (Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei) International Center for Science and Technology Innovation. Experts and scholars from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Party School of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, the Beijing Academy of Social Sciences and other institutions delivered special tutoring sessions on Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building, General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches concerning work in Beijing, and the capital's development in the new era. Through diverse forms including theoretical study, on-site study, group discussions and participant forum, the program helped female science and technology workers and young cadres of the BWF deepen their understanding of national conditions, municipal realities and scientific and technological landscape, broaden their horizons, and achieve ideological tempering, professional study and cross-sector exchange.

On-Site Study: Witnessing the Achievements of Scientific and Technological Innovation

During the on-site study session, participants visited Baidu and NetEase to get a close look at the development achievements of cutting-edge industrial technologies such as artificial intelligence, and gained direct insights into the practical progress made in developing the Beijing (Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei) International Center for Science and Technology Innovation, deeply understanding the driving and leading role of scientific and technological innovation in the high-quality development of the capital.

Group Discussions: Cross-Sector Study for Consensus Building

During group discussions, female science and technology workers shared insights based on their frontline research practice, while young cadres of women's federations drew on their job responsibilities in in-depth exchanges and brainstorming sessions on practical topics including the growth and development of female science and technology workers, services provided by women's federations for female science and technology workers, and ways to better leverage women's strengths, further consolidating consensus to contribute to the high-quality development of the capital in the new era.

At the participant forum, Chang Le from Beijing SoundAI Technology Co., Ltd., Lai Qiuxia from Communication University of China, Kong Lijun from Sumgen Biotech Dankang (Beijing) Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Chen Linshan from Beijing Mars Vision Technology Co., Ltd., Guo Yonghong from China-Israel Future Technology Development (Beijing) Co., Ltd. and Li Jiarui from Beijing Sentence Interactive Technology Co., Ltd., as representatives of science and technology workers, and Chi Sunian from Haidian District Women's Federation and Chen Lili from the BWF, as young cadre representatives of women's federations drew on their respective job responsibilities in exchanges on "how to better leverage women's strengths and trends in scientific research and industrial development within their fields". They shared experiences in tackling key research challenges and reflections on women's work, vividly demonstrating how women in the new era shoulder their responsibility by integrating personal aspirations into the overall development of the capital and contributing women's strength to advancing high-level self-reliance and strength in science and technology.

The training program featured well-targeted curriculum and diverse teaching methods. Participants unanimously agreed that the training broadened their horizons, built a platform for mutual exchange and support, and delivered knowledge empowerment.
