Supported by APEC's Policy Partnership on Women and the Economy (PPWE) fund project "Embracing the Changing Future: Enhancement of Digital Literacy and Skills for APEC Women," the training was co-hosted by the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology, the ZGC Global High-Level Think Tank Alliance, and the Beijing Women's Association for Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan Compatriots and Overseas Chinese. The training delivered tiered, hands-on instruction targeting female micro-enterprise owners, community women leaders, female government practitioners, and digital industry professionals from APEC economies. Welcoming remarks were delivered by Zhou Zhijun, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of the Beijing Women's Federation; Wu Jianmin, President of the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology and Chair of the ZGC Global High-Level Think Tank Alliance; and He Shuwen, Deputy Director of the Liaison Department of the All-China Women's Federation.

Zhou Zhijun noted that Beijing, as an international center for science and technology innovation, has seen women accumulate rich practical experience in fields such as digital technology, e-commerce, and artificial intelligence. She expressed the hope that all parties would work together to build an Asia-Pacific network for women to connect and collaborate, translate what is learned into entrepreneurial and employment capabilities, and enable more outcomes to take root in Beijing. Wu Jianmin introduced the training module design and expressed his willingness to deepen cooperation with partners across APEC economies to jointly develop digital skills courses tailored to women's needs, empowering women through digital means. He Shuwen stated that this training represents a concrete action to implement the spirit of President Xi Jinping's important remarks at the Global Leaders' Meeting on Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment and the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting. The All-China Women's Federation is vigorously implementing the "Women in Science and Technology Innovation Initiative" and looks forward to continuing to deepen dialogue, exchanges, and practical cooperation with all parties in the digital field, jointly writing a new chapter in Asia-Pacific development.
This training coincided with the APEC China Year and focused on enhancing the digital capabilities of Asia-Pacific women. It was delivered via cross-border cloud-based instruction over two half-days. Experts from various APEC economies taught courses on entrepreneurship and accelerated development, women's digital rights, AI-driven data analysis and marketing, cross-border e-commerce, and remote work, structured around the themes of "core competencies in the digital economy" and "digital advancement and long-term development." The training brought together international educational resources with an emphasis on practical application, helping participants enhance their entrepreneurial management and risk prevention capabilities.

The Beijing Women's Federation organized 22 female entrepreneurs and business leaders from districts including Xicheng, Chaoyang, Fengtai, Haidian, Shunyi, Fangshan, and Pinggu to participate in the online training, covering sectors such as home services, modern agriculture, cultural creativity, and technology innovation. Participants indicated that the training content closely matched their entrepreneurial realities and offered strong practical guidance. Wang Dan, General Manager of Beijing Taogu Xinnongren Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., noted that courses on digital security compliance and sustainable network building were well-aligned with the needs of female entrepreneurs. Wu Yan, General Manager of Beijing Zhongkang Hejia Cultural Technology Co., Ltd., said the training broadened her thinking on leveraging digital technology to promote integrated development between home services and related fields.
Going forward, the Beijing Women's Federation will continue to deepen efforts to enhance women's digital literacy and skills, take proactive action within the APEC framework, help bridge the digital divide, and unite and guide more women in the capital to strengthen their capabilities and achieve success in the digital economy.
