Shen Yueyue, Vice-Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and President of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), visited a warehouse used for material supply of the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games on January 30, and hailed the dedication of women volunteers, university students and cadres of women's federations at grassroots level to the Games' preparatory work. She also extended to them Chinese New Year's greetings, wishing them all the best in the coming year.

 

Shen stressed the importance of studying and implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches on preparations for the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, and encouraged volunteers and cadres to cooperate and work hard for a successful Winter Olympics. She also urged efforts to prepare for the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

 

Huang Xiaowei, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group of the ACWF and Vice-President and First Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, and Zhang Yajun, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and President of Beijing Women's Federation (BWF), also participated in the visit.

Shen learned about the sorting and packaging workflow of the Games' supplies, and communicated with workers in the warehouse. Women students expressed their pleasure to participate and serve for the Winter Olympics. Shen spoke highly of their performance in the Games' preparatory work and noted that volunteering for the Beijing Winter Olympic Games is not only a hard-won opportunity for them but also a share of the national responsibility. Shen said that she hopes everyone will show the spirit of China's young generation, impress participants from different countries with the hospitality and good manners, and promote the Olympic spirit. It will contribute to a simple but wonderful Olympic Games for the world. With best wishes to a happy Chinese New Year, she told workers to keep warm and take good care of themselves.

A campaign participated by all women in Beijing to celebrating Winter Olympics was launched. Organized by community-based women's federations, some craftswomen have meticulously prepared Olympic gifts such as theme paper cuttings and traditional Chinese silk figurines, a kind of cloth toy, which have been displayed in the Olympic villages. Shen affirmed their efforts to promote the Olympic spirit and the essence of Chinese culture, and congratulated the women for their exquisite workmanship. She asked women cadres to give more care to the volunteers and their family members, and mobilize more women and families to fight "Together for a Shared Future."
