Beijing Women's Federation

On March 17, Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) held a meeting to promote the work of presidents of district-level women's federations and a meeting of directors of the offices of district-level working committees for children and women.

 

Zhang Yajun, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and President of the BWF, attended the meeting and delivered a speech, while Wei Jiang, Deputy Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Vice President of the BWF, presided over the meeting.

 

At the meeting, heads of women's federations from 16 districts and the working committee for children and women of departments directly under the municipal Party committee and the working committee for children and women of the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA), discussed the highlights and innovation of their work in 2021, and the key work for 2022. Based on the features and key tasks of the respective field of work they handle, BWF’s leaders made arrangements for the work of 2022.

 

Zhang stressed at the meeting that the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) will be held in 2022, and 2022 is an important year for the city's in-depth implementation of the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025). She said it is of great significance to do all the work well this year.

 

Zhang also stressed that the city's women's federation system should focus on four aspects of the work in 2022. First, federations should focus on practical actions to prepare for the 20th National Congress of the CPC, perform their political duties, unite and lead women to listen to the Party and follow the Party’s leadership. Second, federations should take the city’s development as the core, and complete the tasks of promoting women's actions on scientific and technological innovation and COVID-19 prevention and control. Third, they should practice the people-centered development philosophy, ensure progress in the work on family, and promotion of family education and fine family traditions, optimize the environment for women and children's development, and promote the "Spring Bud Project — Dream Future" project, constantly improving the sense of fulfillment, well-being and security of women. Fourth, federations should prevent and solve all kinds of risks and hazards, and enhance the awareness of risks and accurately understand the current requirements and initiatives of the Party and the government on the protection of the rights and interests of women and children. Efforts should be made to promote the implementation of the document on strengthening the implementation of the personal protection order system, and effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of women and children.

 

Zhang hoped that heads of women's federations will adhere to righteousness and innovation, carry forward good traditions, pay attention to mastering the methods of women's work, and enhance the skills of doing a good job for women and children in the new era. They should adhere to the overall leadership of the Party in all aspects, focus on strengthening learning and research and focus on the general situation when planning their work. They should enhance coordination with grassroots organizations, improve organizational work, and preserve a spirit of high principles to perform a better job in guiding, serving and connecting women in the capital and successfully complete the tasks of the year.

 

The meeting was attended, both online and offline, by vice presidents of the BWF, bureau-level leaders, cadres of departments and affiliated public institutions of the BWF.
