BWF’s Letter to Women Volunteers and Families in Beijing
Date:2022-5-20 16:19:44 Views:Amid resurgent domestic COVID-19 cases, locally-transmitted cases have been reported in several places across Beijing. Many women and families have taken an active part in volunteer work for epidemic prevention and control. However, the current situation is still in a stalemate, and there may still be hidden risks of transmission. Beijing Women's Federation is calling for more efforts to push forward the volunteer spirit of dedication, friendship, mutual help and progress, and contribute to the fight against the virus.
1.Promote positive energy
Volunteers are expected to promote a response among the public and guide residents to get vaccinated and receive nucleic acid testing systematically. They should take the lead in implementing regulations, reducing non-essential travel, protecting themselves scientifically, and avoiding gatherings in case of cross-infection. They should follow official information, not spread rumors, inspire the people around them with an optimistic attitude, and strengthen people's confidence to overcome difficulties.
2.Take part in community services
Volunteers are called on to give full play to their advantages in community anti-epidemic work, including identifying who might become infected through contact tracing, verifying residents’ health codes and taking their temperatures, conducting nucleic acid testing and distributing materials.
3.Highlight mutual help
Attention should be paid to special groups, such as needy families, children, pregnant women and people who are isolated at home. Also, care should be taken for the family members of frontline workers in the fight against the epidemic, eliminate their worries, and create a good social atmosphere of mutual assistance.
Dear volunteers, let us stick to our positions shoulder to shoulder, and work together with the medical workers on the front line to eventually claim victory over the virus.
