Xicheng District: President of grassroots women's federation acts as an all-rounder on the frontline

Li Shengqiao, President of the Xinwaidajie North Community Women's Federation in Xicheng District, has been getting up at 6:00 am and working late into the night since the outbreak.

In addition to organizing mass nucleic acid testing, she led a group of volunteers to disinfect staircases, elevators and other public venues in their residential community on a regular basis, monitor the health conditions of pregnant and lying-in women, visit local residents in person or via video link and phone call, help them purchase daily necessities, and extend a helping hand to them in solving other difficulties.

Wu Guili is Party chief of Daliushu Community, in Haidian District and president of the community’s women's federation.

During the past several weeks, she has been writing a frontline diary to record their participation in the epidemic prevention and control, bolstering the morale of her colleagues and expressing thanks to all volunteers for their wisdom and strength in helping conduct mass nucleic acid testing to cut off transmission of the virus.

 

Changping District: President of grassroots women's federation stays on the frontline in pregnancy

Jiang Yanhua is a member of the Party branch and president of the women's federation of Guanhuayuan Community, in Changping District.

Jiang has been pregnant for over five months. She is responsible for the deployment of volunteers, the verification and registration of identity information, and the maintenance of order at nearby mass nucleic testing sites.

Under her influence, many residents there have proactively become volunteers in the organization of mass nucleic acid testing.

For instance, Zhao Caishan and his wife Geng Ruxia, both of whom are in their 70s, have played an exemplary role as Party members in providing volunteer services in the front line of the epidemic prevention and control.

Chen Haiyan, a mother of two children, has worked with other volunteers to help organize all rounds of mass nucleic acid tests. Shi Xiahui, a responsible volunteer, has offered beverage to frontline health workers.

Lu Weiping is an executive member of the women's federation of Binhe Community in Pinggu District.

To sort out and verify a giant amount of data as soon as possible, she has worked around the clock on the front line for nearly a month, having no time to enjoy a meal and take care of her six-year-old daughter.

During the past several rounds of mass nucleic acid testing, she has been responsible for maintaining order and assisting health workers in the registration of ID card information at a local testing site.

In addition, she has been preoccupied with the verification of information of people living in her responsible area and the mobilization of all people to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

She has always responded quickly to the messages of local residents.

 

Yanqing District: President of grassroots women's federation devotes to anti-COVID battle

Wang Shuiping, 57, is president of the women's federation of Liudaohe Village in Yanqing District. She has fought on the front line since the new COVID-19 outbreak was detected in Beijing in late April.

The influx of visitors during the Labor Day holiday, which lasted from April 30 to May 4 this year, posed additional risk and pressure for the village, which sits near a popular tourist destination. She often worked till midnight in the checkpoint of the village to help scan health and travel codes of tourists, check their body temperature, and spray the workplace with disinfectant.

All executive members of the grassroots women's federations in Beijing have supported the capital city in the building of a strong community-level defense line against COVID-19 with their firm ideals, convictions and sense of responsibility, bolstering public confidence in bringing the latest outbreak under control.
