Dongcheng District: United to Safeguard Homeland
As Beijing is at a pivotal moment in the battle against COVID-19, executive members of women's federations at all levels in Dongcheng District have responded to the call of Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) and Dongcheng Women's Federation to stand out, give full play to their special roles and join other frontline workers in the prevention and control of the latest outbreak.
As an exemplary figure, Chen Huihua, an executive member of Dongcheng Women's Federation and head of the Dongcheng Association of Women Entrepreneurs, has organized and led a group of 20 entrepreneurs to participate in epidemiological investigation and tracing work in several residential communities under the Beixinqiao Sub-district. They also helped people register personal information, maintaining order and answering questions of residents at a mass nucleic acid testing site.

Meanwhile, Chen has led local entrepreneurs to donate and deliver food, fruits and medical and hygienic supplies worth about 70,000 yuan (US$ 10,606) to frontline workers in three sub-district areas after learning that people living in local closed-off management areas were short of daily supplies.
Fengtai District: Stand out on the Frontline
Fengtai Women's Federation has proactively followed the policies and decisions made by the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) and BWF on the roles of executive members and summed up a series of positive practices and experience playing their roles of coordinating families, organizations, industries, women and social resources, in areas of psychological counseling, protection of personal rights and interests, law popularization, social governance and innovation and entrepreneurship, as part of their participation in prevention and control work to better aid the capital city in the battle against the COVID-19 outbreak.
Since late April, Peng Fei, an executive member of Fengtai Women's Federation and Party chief of Fengtai Maternity and Infant Hospital, has been fighting on the front line and setting an example for her colleagues in the organization and participation of multiple rounds of mass nucleic acid testing in both Chaoyang and Fengtai. The hospital sent 200 doctors and nurses to carry out mass nucleic acid testing every day.
It has become a routine for Peng and her colleagues to get up early in the morning of each day and go to designated nucleic acid testing sites. They have held fast to their positions during the May Day holiday, May Fourth Youth Day, International Midwives Day, Mother's Day and International Nurses Day on the front line of the battle against COVID-19.

In addition, Peng and other senior officials of the hospital have closely followed the needs of their employees and ensured the supply of beverages and coats to staff workers on the front line.
As of May 19, Fengtai Maternity and Infant Hospital had dispatched 21 groups of health workers and conducted mass nucleic acid tests for over 1.8 million people.
Chaoyang District: Demonstrating Power of Women
Before becoming volunteers on the front line, executive members of women's federations at the grassroots level in Chaoyang worked as lawyers, entrepreneurs and teachers in daily life.
When Pan Xiaoli, vice-president of Chaoyang Women's Federation, sent a message in a WeChat group of executive members at 10:30 pm one day, Li Hua, Gui Fan, Zhou Yuanhong and Chen Fangzhi, all of whom are executive members of local women's federations, immediately replied and signed for volunteer activities in the epidemic prevention and control.
In fact, all executive members of the grassroots women's federations in Chaoyang have remained at their posts and taken advantage of their unique strengths in the mobilization of the public, organizing teams, providing services and offering ideas in the battle against COVID-19.

Shunyi District: Extend Love and Care to Deliverywomen
Officials from Shunyi Women's Federation on May 23 paid a visit to women workers in Shunyi branches of Shunfeng Express, one of the country's largest logistics companies, as well as Shanghai Quansheng Logistics and China Post.
Local deliverywomen receive their share of anti-epidemic supplies from Shunyi Women's Federation.
During the inspection tour, officials from Shunyi Women's Federation heard a report on daily work schedule, allocation of specific tasks, and the supply of anti-epidemic supplies, and called on them to strengthen self-protection amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
According to Shunyi Women's Federation, it gave 240 parcels of anti-epidemic goods, which contained storage bags, facial masks, wet wipes, shoe covers and trash bags, to frontline deliverywomen in the visit.
Daxing District: Being ‘Iron Rose’ on the Front Line
Executive members of grassroots women's federations in Daxing have taken on multiple challenges of fighting off the COVID-19 resurgence with their concrete efforts on the front line.
Chen Xiujuan, 58, is president of the village-level women's federation at Taifuzhuang. During the past rounds of mass nucleic acid testing, she has often arrived at the testing sites at 4:00 am in the morning to check the availability of basic goods, take care of children, the elderly and people with disability, handle waste treatment and the shipment of collected samples, and organize residents to take nucleic acid testing.

Li Xiaomei, Party chief of Yuejingyuan Residential Community in Daxing, remained at her post though she has a pre-existing disease. She often worked with her colleagues for about 17 hours in a day to check the basic information and travel records of 3,200 residents in 14 buildings.
Huairou District: Offering Strength and Wisdom in the Battle
Since the latest round of the COVID-19 resurgence, executive members of the women's federations at all levels in Huairou have fought together with frontline workers to help the capital city bring the new outbreak under control.
Wang Li is an executive member of the women's federation in Longshan Sub-district and deputy director of the trade services center on a local commercial street. She has done the utmost to guarantee the demand of drugs and healthcare for hundreds of residents in 23 closed-off management buildings, though her father just passed away, her mother is in poor health and her two children have been left alone to study from home.
She said that it is her responsibility and mission to stay at the workplace and that the epidemic prevention and control work cannot afford to be delayed because of personal matters.
Deng Lina is an executive member of Huairou Women's Federation and part-time vice-president of the women's federation in the Longshan Sub-district. She is responsible for registration of the information of inbound people, classification of various data, arrangement of people working in checkout points, and organizing the general public to get vaccinated and take mass nucleic acid testing.
Sometimes, Deng has to get up late at night to work from home. She often sleeps only four hours a day. Her outstanding performance and sacrifice at the workplace have earned recognition from all those around her.
