A working committee on women of Beijing-based chambers of commerce and trade associations is established.
The event briefed attendees on the selection of members of the working committee and the procedures of establishing the committee. The approval of the establishment of the committee, the appointment of its members and the specification of its responsibilities were announced, and it was underscored that the committee is under leadership of the comprehensive Party committee of Beijing-based chambers of commerce and trade associations and Beijing Women's Federation (BWF).
During the event, Wen Yuliang, Deputy Secretary of the comprehensive Party committee of Beijing-based chambers of commerce and trade associations and Director of the Social Organizations Management Center of Beijing Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau, said that the working committee on women will unite and lead women from all types of social organizations to closely follow the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee in terms of thinking, political orientation and actions, and it will guide women’s work of social organizations and promote the high-quality development of social organizations in Beijing.
In her speech, Zhao Hongwei, Member of the Leading Party Group and Vice-President of the BWF, extended her congratulations on the establishment of the working committee on women. She called on social organizations to integrate their work on women's affairs with the capital city's high-quality development. They should unite and lead women to fulfill personal obligations and strive to be the builders of socialist cause and advocates of civilized social conduct, bear in mind the significance of Party-building work when promoting women’s work.
Noting that the work on women's affairs is an integral part of the Party's cause, Xu Wei, Secretary of the comprehensive Party committee of Beijing-based chambers of commerce and trade associations, said that the establishment of the working committee on women is vital for social organizations to strengthen Party building. Xu urged social organizations to put political building on top agenda of their work on women's affairs, strengthen pioneering nature and connection with the people and they should set the stage for the convocation of the 20th CPC National Congress with concrete actions.
The establishment of the working committee on women has represented a new breakthrough in promoting the work on women's affairs. Last year, seven working committees on women were built under the 52 united Party branches of the comprehensive Party committee of Beijing-based chambers of commerce and trade associations. It is planned that eight such committees will be set up this year. In the future, the working committee on women of Beijing-based chambers of commerce and trade associations will lead the 15 subordinate working committees to explore new approaches and to guide the work on women's affairs.
