A working committee on women of the express delivery industry in Beijing was founded at a conference on September 27. Those in attendance at the ceremony included Jin Jinghua, Secretary of the Leading Party Group and Director-General of the Beijing Municipal Postal Administration and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Express Delivery Industry in Beijing, Wei Jiang, Deputy Secretary of the Leading Party Group and Vice-President of the Beijing Women's Federation (BWF), and representatives from the State Post Bureau and the Working Committee on New Economic and Social Organizations of the Beijing municipal Party committee.

The attendees were briefed on the preparatory work of the establishment of the working committee on women of the express delivery industry in Beijing. The approval of the establishment of the committee, the appointment of its members and the specification of its responsibilities were announced as well. Huang Liqun, director of the freshly-minted working committee, pledged to fulfill her duties in her speech.

Wei expressed congratulations to the working committee’s establishment and hoped it will adhere to ideological guidance, advance incorporation and integration, and strengthen work norms. She stressed that the working committee should bear in mind the requirements on the positive interactions between Party building and the work on women, give full play to its role as a bridge connecting the Party with the people, make achievements in improving the efficiency of the work on women. The committee should unite and lead women from the express delivery sector to rally closely around the Party, guide women to become builders of the great cause, advocates of civilized social conduct and strivers who pursue their dreams, and deepen the integration between the work on women and the express delivery business. She added that the committee should accumulate Beijing's relevant experience in women’s work in the express delivery industry.

Jin urged the working committee on women in the express delivery industry in Beijing to foster talents through firm will, serve the development of the capital city, and highlight self-development. Specifically, it should unite and guide women to follow the leadership of the Party, observe socialist core values; organize women to hold fast to their post, strive for achievements at the workplace, take a clear-cut political stance, think in big-picture terms, fulfill their duties, endeavor to make differences, bolster the fighting spirit and unity of women employees, help promote the high-quality development of the express delivery industry in the capital city. The committee should beef up self-development, adhere to problem-oriented approaches, improve working methods, address pressing problems and work on issues detrimental to the development of the work on women, and pool the strength of all social groups to serve women in the express delivery industry.

The establishment of the working committee conforms to the development trends of new business forms and new employment populations and is a forceful measure for the development of women's federations in all industrial sectors. It represents new progress by women's federations in consolidating their presence, making their guidance more functional, and fully leveraging their role as bridges connecting the Party with women from new business forms and new employment populations.

The working committee on women of the express delivery industry in Beijing will adhere to the dual leadership of the Party committee of the express delivery industry and women's federations, move with the times, seek innovation, unite and lead women in that industry to embark on a new journey, contribute their wisdom and strength, and greet the 20^th National Congress of the Communist Party of China with new achievements.
