BWF Convenes Training Session for Leadership, Executive Members of District-level Women's Federations
Date:2022-11-30 13:00:13 Views:Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) held a training session for members of the leadership teams of district-level women's federations and their executive members, in Beijing on November 24-25, to thoroughly study and implement the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), fully grasp the significance and essence of the report delivered by General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping at the opening ceremony of the 20th CPC National Congress, deepen the study and implementation of General Secretary Xi's important discourses on women and relevant work, strengthen the building of the leadership teams of district-level women's federations and help them better fulfill their duties.
The event took place at a critical time, when the entire country was studying and implementing the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress and using the principles to unify its collective thoughts, will and action in the midst of making plans for the overall work for 2023.
Eighty-three people from 16 district-level women's federations attended the two-day training seminar, whose courses prioritized the study and implementation of the key principles of the 20th CPC National Congress, helped grasp a full understanding of new ideas, new judgments, new thinking, new strategies and new requirements from the report delivered by Xi at the congress, and focused on the cause of women and children in Beijing.
Xiao Lihui, a professor from the Party School of the CPC Central Committee (the National Academy of Governance), spoke with attendees about his learning of the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress. Liu Bin, director of the Social Law Office in the Legislative Affairs Commission of the National People's Congress (NPC), talked about the significance and major content of the revision of the Law on the Protection of the Rights and Interests of Women. Jiang Xiuhua, vice-director of the Women's Studies Institute of China, gave a speech titled Using the Guiding Principles of the 20th National Congress of the CPC to Promote the High-quality Development of Women's Causes in the New Era. Jiang Wen, an associate professor from the Party School of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPC, lectured participants on how to further improve interpersonal communication skills and leadership.
Representatives from women's federations of Fengtai, Daxing and Mentougou districts shared their experience and practices in helping executive members make full use of their functions, safeguarding the rights and interests of women, and advancing family building.
In her speech at the closing ceremony, Wei Jiang, Deputy Secretary of the Leading Party Group and Vice-President of the BWF, stressed that officials from women's federations shall adhere to the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, elevate the work of women's federations to a new height, and support regular COVID-19 prevention and control measures.
Many attendees said that they would translate their learning results at the training into concrete actions to promote the cause of women and children and the work of the women's federations, facilitate the realization of all decisions and arrangements of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, and fulfill personal duties in the high-quality development of the capital city.
