Women's Federations' Executive Committee Members, Specially Invited Delegates from Hong Kong, Macao Visit Beijing
Date:2023-4-27 11:03:09 Views:A 73-member delegation composed of women's federations' executive committee members and specially invited delegates from the special administrative regions (SARs) of Hong Kong and Macao visited Tongzhou district of Beijing on April 25. The delegation visited the Canal Olympic Park and took a boat trip along the Beijing section of the Grand Canal. They learned information about the development of Tongzhou as Beijing's sub-center and about the history of the ancient transport channel. The delegation and Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) had a meeting, during which Zhang Yajun, president of the BWF, gave an introduction to the overall work on women’s affairs in Beijing. Those in attendance of the meeting included Huang Keying, deputy director-general of the United Front Work Department of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and secretary of the Leading Party Group of the Beijing Taiwan Compatriots Association, Chen Jianghua, deputy Party secretary of Tongzhou district and Tan Hong, vice-president of the BWF.

In her speech, Zhang extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation. She said that she was extremely happy to meet with sisters from Hong Kong and Macao face to face after a break of three years due to COVID-19. She noted that BWF will give full play to the roles of Beijing as the capital city in building development platforms and providing services for women from the two SARs, deepening friendship and cooperation to promote the development of women's and children's affairs through concerted efforts. Zhang wished the delegation a happy trip and called on them to join hands in making contributions to the long-term stability and prosperity of both Hong Kong and Macao and the realization of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization.
Chen spoke with the delegation about the area's historical and cultural strength and other resources, as well as its endeavor to become Beijing's sub-center and a demonstration area of world-class living environment, new-type urbanization and the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

At the invitation of the ACWF, the delegation visit Beijing and east China’s Jiangxi Province. Shen Yueyue, vice-chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and president of the ACWF, Huang Xiaowei, vice-president and first member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, and Lin Yi, vice-president and member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, met with the delegation in Beijing on April 24.
