BWF Holds Training Session for District-level Women's Federations' Officials
Date:2023-5-29 10:33:25 Views:Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) held a training session on theoretical knowledge and capacity building for officials of district-level women's federations in the capital from May 22 to 24. The objective is to promote the study and implementation of the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
The training session brought together presidents and vice-presidents of 16 district-level women's federations as well as heads of some municipal government departments. Some trainees attended via video link. Zhang Yajun, secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and president of the BWF, addressed the opening ceremony. Wei Jiang, deputy secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and vice-president of the BWF, presided over the opening and closing ceremonies.
A training session is held by Beijing Women's Federation for officials of district-level women's federations in the capital.
In her speech, Zhang highlighted the importance of the training event. She arranged for the work that required joint efforts of the municipal and district-level women's federations in the next half five aspects: make the Party's theoretical innovation known by women and their families, unite women, through a series of campaigns, in contributing to the city’s high-quality development, foster stronger family ties, values and traditions, introduce better services for women and children, and deepen the reform of the women's federations.
The training session closely followed the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress. It invited several experts and scholars to impart knowledge and help attendees improve their work methods. Liu Liqun, president of China Women's University, gave a lecture on women's federations’ publicity work. Wang Xuezhu, an associate professor with the Beijing Municipal Party Committee School, presented a lecture about the Party's mass line and work methods to carry out inspection and studies. Wang Zhe, a senior business director with China Energy Investment Corporation (China Energy), spoke about the perception, practices and explorations of leadership in the new era. During the training session, BWF organized trainees to visit the headquarters of Tencent in Beijing and Xiaomi Mobile Internet Industrial Park to further expand their horizon and vision. Yang Fude, Party secretary of Beijing Huilongguan Hospital, gave a lecture about how to better manage mental stress.

During the discussion part, participants shared their thoughts about how to implement the spirit of Zhang’s address based on their practical work. Lyu Hui, Yan Mei and Liang Zengxia, presidents of the women's federations of Dongcheng, Changping and Mentougou districts, together with Wang Hongmei, vice-president of the women's federation of Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology, shared their experience about the work related to family, the protection of women's and children's rights and interests, grass-roots social governance, and the work of women's federations in universities.
Attendees said that they will translate their learning into tangible efforts to further push for the development of women's and children's affairs and the work of the women's federations and accomplish all set objectives and tasks with high morale.
