HKFW Delegation Visits Beijing
Date:2023-5-26 16:38:59 Views:Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) held a meeting with a delegation consisting 60-plus members from the Hong Kong Federation of Women (HKFW) on May 23 in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA). The delegation visited several places, including BOE Technology Group Co., Ltd, JD Group and a school, learned about the development of sci-tech innovation industry and the development of women's and children's affairs in Beijing, and conducted exchanges with the BWF.
Zhang Yajun, secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and president of the BWF, met with the delegation, and gave an introduction about the city's work on women. Kong Lei, director of the administrative committee of the BDA, Tan Hong, vice-president of the BWF, Song Wei, an inspector from the Liaison Department of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), and Bai Jing, an inspector from the coordination department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), also attended the inspection tour.

In her speech, Zhang extended a warm welcome on behalf of the BWF to the delegation, reviewed the history of friendly exchanges between the BWF and the HKFW, especially the deep friendship they have forged in the process, showed full respect to the HKFW for its patriotism and love of the SAR and conveyed her congratulations and expectations toward the upcoming 30th founding anniversary of the HKFW. Zhang hoped that the two sides will work together to build exchange platforms, deepen exchanges and friendship between women from Beijing and Hong Kong, and promote the economic and social development of the two regions through concerted efforts.
Kong talked with the visiting delegation about the general development of the BDA. He said that the area is the main platform for Beijing to build itself into an international sci-tech innovation center and promote the development of cutting-edge industries, and that as the only national-level economic-development zone in Beijing, it has prioritized the development of high-end sectors and fostered four leading industrial clusters with promising prospects. Kong added that the BDA is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with women from Hong Kong.
During their visit, the delegation watched a video which helped them learn more about the BDA’s efforts to promote sci-tech innovation, industrial upgrading and become an ideal place for both living and working.

At BOE Technology Group, the delegation viewed an exhibition of the group’s core technological results concerning semi-conductor displays and sensing elements and experienced new products, as well as solutions related to smart industrial parks, smart finance and smart retail.

During their visit to JD Group, the delegation acquired information about the technological development trend of modern logistics and the results brought by the application of new technologies, and the development of the digital economy.

When visiting a branch of the high school affiliated to Renmin University of China in the BDA, the delegation toured its classrooms, dormitories and sports venues, learned about its operating philosophy and classes on arts, sports and traditional Chinese culture. The visitors talked with students, and appreciated the efforts made to ensure their healthy and all-round development.

Members of the delegation said that they were deeply impressed by the high-quality development of both the BDA and the capital city, and that they will adhere to the love of the country and the SAR, support the HKSAR government in governing Hong Kong in accordance with the law, advance exchanges between women, children and families from Hong Kong and Beijing, and deepen the in-depth integration between the two regions in terms of culture and economy.
The HKFW is the largest and the most influential women-oriented organizations in Hong Kong. Since its establishment in 1993, adhering to the original aspiration of loving both the motherland and Hong Kong, the organization has brought together Hong Kong women from all social sectors, and showed firm support to the implementation of the policy of One Country, Two Systems. It has made tremendous contributions to Hong Kong's prosperity and stability, as well as to exchanges between women from Hong Kong and Beijing.
