Beijing Women's Federation

A theme lecture is held by Beijing Women’s Federation on education campaign on the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in Beijing.

 

Zhang Yajun, secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and president of Beijing Women's Federation (BWF), on May 18 gave a lecture to help the federation’s Party and staff members improve their understanding of the education campaign on the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.

Zhang expounded on the Party education campaign in terms of its historical backdrop, scientific system and historical status. She called on all Party members and cadres of the BWF to enhance their Party consciousness and put the Party, the people and their duties in mind through the education campaign, and promote high-quality development of women's cause in Beijing.

Zhang said that Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era is a set of systematic and scientific thought with comprehensive and profound knowledge. It represents valuable experiences and important achievements by the Party in understanding and changing the world, and marks a new height in the further development of Marxism. She noted that only by thoroughly studying original theories and mastering the essence will people enhance their understanding and support of the Party's theoretical innovation.

Zhang said that Party consciousness is a foundation for all Party members and cadres to achieve success and foster virtue, and that they shall continuously enhance Party consciousness by taking part in intra-Party activities. She urged them to firm up conviction, enhance ideological beliefs, bear in mind commitment to the Party, acquire a deep understanding of the decisive significance of "two affirmations" and ensure the “two upholds,” sharing the same banner, will, and mission with the Party.

Zhang stressed that all BWF’s Party members and cadres shall closely follow important discourses by General Secretary Xi on the work for women, master the development rules of women's affairs, make practical efforts, put in mind fundamental interests of the country and target central work of women's affairs. She urged to adhere to the people-centered approach and the mass line, serve women, children and their families wholeheartedly, and said that women’s federations should deepen reform to strengthen their political consciousness, become more advanced and better represent the people, and make unique contributions to the building of a modern socialist country in all respects.

Those in attendance of the event also included Feng Jianguo, deputy head of the sixth guidance team for the education campaign of the Communist Party of China Beijing Municipal Committee, and all officials and staff members of the BWF. Wei Jiang, vice-president of the BWF, presided over the lecture.
