Delegation of Cross-Strait Women's Economic and Cultural Exchange Association Visits Beijing

The delegation, headed by Tsai Ling-lan, president of the association, had an inspection tour over the capital city's efforts to integrate cultural and historical protection with urban renewal and to advance the innovation-driven development of time-honored brands during their visit to Dashila, a busy commercial area of Xicheng District.
Tan Hong, Vice-President of the BWF, spoke with the delegation about the federation's work on women. Those in attendance of the meeting also included Liu Xianchuan, Deputy Director of Taiwan Affairs Office of Beijing Municipal People's Government, and officials from the Women's Federation of Xicheng District and Dashila sub-district office.

The visit also brought the delegation to a store of Tongrentang Group, a renowned traditional Chinese medicine pharmacy. The visitors watched and experienced, through AR technology, the hand-made process of two TCM products.

During a meeting, Tan conveyed her warm welcome to the delegation on behalf of the BWF, reviewed the decade-long friendship between the BWF and Tsai, and called on the two sides to deepen bilateral exchanges and cooperation in economic, cultural and technological sectors and promote the development and prosperity of the both sides of the Taiwan Strait.

For her part, Tsai expressed great thanks to the BWF for organizing the visits to cultural sites and time-honored brands in Beijing, which left a deep impression on them. She called on the two sides to further strengthen the exchanges and cooperation between women entrepreneurs from Beijing and Taiwan and advance the friendship between women from the both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
