Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) held a meeting on the results of research and investigations conducted as part of the education campaign about the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, on July 14. Huang Saixi, chief of the sixth steering group of the education campaign under the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), attended and addressed the meeting. Those in attendance at the event included all Party members and cadres from the BWF and heads of BWF’s affiliated public institutions.

During the meeting, members of the BWF's Leading Party Members’ Group and bureau-level officials of the BWF talked about their research results, highlighted problems and put forward proposals based on research about topics including: the improvement of supportive policies on childbirth and the promotion of the long-term and balanced development of Beijing's population; the high-quality development of education and training work for women's federation cadres in Beijing; the implementation of the rural women's innovation and entrepreneurship campaign; the status quo and measures to improve family education work in Beijing; Beijing's implementation of the anti-domestic violence law; the implementation of Beijing's plans for women's and children's development during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25); and efforts to promote ideological and political work among Party members and cadres from the women's federations in Beijing.

Zhang Yajun, secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and president of the BWF, presided over the meeting. She said that since the education campaign on the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era began this April, the Leading Party Members' Group of the BWF has adopted a problem-oriented approach, focused on the capital city's high-quality development, responded to the pressing difficulties of high concern to women and children, targeted key work as well as major issues facing the women's federations, carried out study and investigation activities around seven themes and sub-themes in urban and rural areas, enterprises and universities, come up with solutions to existing problems, and translated research results into concrete actions for solving problems and promoting development.

Zhang said that the meeting was not only an opportunity for staff workers from the BWF to share their research results but also an occasion to further promote the work on women. She added that the meeting helped attendees learn more about the pressing difficulties of high concern to women and children and have new thinking and plans for the high-quality development of women's affairs. She emphasized that BWF shall integrate research findings with the work on women and the high-quality development of women's affairs, consider the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as a compulsory course, achieve tangible results in its study and implementation, conduct rectification activities in the whole process of the education campaign, and combine theoretical study with investigation, inspection and rectification.

Huang hailed the achievements made by the Leading Party Members' Group of the BWF in the education campaign, saying that BWF has adhered to theoretical guidance and carried out investigations with a problem-oriented approach, sound organization, multiple research methods and concrete findings. He called on BWF to continuously focus on key tasks and existing problems, coordinate investigations, deepen the study of research topics, and turn the research results into concrete measures that can solve problems and improve related work.
