Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) on September 4 held a meeting to sum up the progress of the education campaign on the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. It also made arrangements on how to further consolidate the achievements in the education campaign.

Zhang Yajun, secretary of the Leading Party Group and president of the BWF, and Feng Jianguo, deputy head of the sixth circuit steering group for the education campaign of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), addressed the meeting. Those in attendance also included Yue Jianyi, deputy head of the discipline inspection and supervisory group to the Beijing Municipal Federation of Trade Unions sent by Beijing Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CPC and Beijing Municipal Supervisory Committee, and Liu Wenjie, a member of the sixth circuit steering group for the education campaign of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPC.

Noting that it is an important decision made by the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core to conduct the education campaign on the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in the entire Party, Zhang said that the BWF Leading Party Members' Group has closely followed the arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPC and the guidance of the sixth circuit steering group for the education campaign of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPC. Taking the campaign as a major political task, the group has carried out in-depth theoretical studies and truth-seeking investigations and research, and has achieved solid results in promoting development and rectifying existing problems through strong leadership.

Zhang further said that BWF would earnestly sum up its practices and experience in the education campaign, strengthen the utilization of the achievements of the campaign, and elevate Party-building work to a higher level. First, it should strengthen the fulfillment of its political obligations, and utilize the Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to guide its practice and advance its work. Second, the federation should consolidate its organizational foundation, bolster its systems with strong execution competence, and strive to become a demonstration organization. Third, BWF should adhere to the people-centered approach, make new achievements in further enhancing women's and children's sense of fulfillment, happiness and security, avoid pointless formalities and bureaucratism, and promote the practices of seeking truth and staying strict, careful and pragmatic. Fourth, the federation should further adhere to the Party's political discipline, honestly perform its duties, hold a sound attitude towards authority, performance and deeds, and endeavor to be trusted by the Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPC and by the women. Lastly, the federation should further deepen its institutional building, and promote the high-quality development of women's federations’ work through the Party-building work.

Feng said that BWF has organized the education campaign with forceful measures, distinct characters and noticeable results. The BWF has become more unified in its ideological standards, gained firmer trust of the people, strengthened its capacity building, and secured tangible results in the entire process. He further said that BWF should beef up ideological building, maintain political loyalty, adhere to the problem-oriented approach, step up problem rectification, intensify self-revolution, build a competent team, and serve the central work and the overall interests.

Wei Jiang, deputy secretary of the Leading Party Group and vice-president of the BWF, presided over the conference. More than 80 people, including members of the Leading Party Group, bureau-level officials and all Party members and cadres of the BWF who worked at the Beijing’s Sub-center, and heads of BWF’s affiliated public institutions attended the event.
