Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) on September 4 held a meeting to promote its Party-building work in 2023. The event summed up BWF's major work in exercising full and rigorous governance over the Party and outlined its measures concerning the Party-building work for now and the year to come.

Zhang Yajun, secretary of the leading Party group and president of the BWF, attended and addressed the meeting. Wei Jiang, deputy secretary of the Leading Party Group and vice-president of the BWF, presided over the conference. It was also attended by other members of the leading Party group, bureau-level officials, all Party members and cadres of the BWF working in Beijing’s sub-center, and heads of BWF’s affiliated public institutions.

In her speech, Zhang said that BWF has integrated its Party-building work with the education campaign on the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, set strengthening itself politically as the overarching guide, endeavored to become a demonstration organization, promoted its overall work with high standards and achieved new progress in the Party-building work, laying a solid foundation for the innovation and development of the work for women's affairs.

Zhang said that BWF should thoroughly study and comprehend important discourses by Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee on Party building, consolidate the achievements in the education campaign, grasp the rules for the Party-building work, adhere to high standards, exercise full and rigorous governance over the Party, and elevate the Party-building work to a higher level. She further stressed that BWF should strengthen the fulfillment of its political obligations, deliver more solid outcomes in the theoretical study program, consolidate its organizational foundation, bolster its organizational systems with strong execution competence, stick to the people-centered approach, make new achievements in further enhancing women's and children's sense of fulfillment, happiness and security, further adhere to the Party's political discipline and rules, honestly perform its official duties, deepen its institutional building, and make the pressure of the Party-building work felt by all relevant parties.

Outstanding individuals and Party organizations are awarded at the meeting.

During the event, outstanding Party members, Party workers and Party organizations were awarded and representatives of them shared their inspirational stories. Li Dunsong, an outstanding Party member, talked about her 25-year-long working experience in handling official documents, expounding the spirit of sacrifice followed by all Party members with concrete actions. Wei Qiankun, another outstanding Party member, spoke about the fulfillment of Party members' duties in a women's federation from the perspectives of firming up ideals and conviction, strengthening theoretical study and remaining prepared to perform personal duties. Ni Xiuli, a leading Party worker, has attached great importance to self-development, carried out management of Party affairs with innovative approaches, and pushed for the development of management of Party affairs at the ordinary workplace. Zhang Yingli, another model Party worker, has closely followed general requirements for the Party-building affairs in the new era, remained true to original aspiration, delivered tangible results in promoting integration, narrowing gaps, enhancing efficiency and improving conduct, and made high scores in the development of the work on women's affairs. You Yun, secretary of Party branch of the general office of the Beijing Municipal Working Committee on Women and Children, shared, on behalf of outstanding Party organizations, about her practices and experience in the building of Party branches and the pooling of strength from Party members toward the high-quality development of the work on women and children.

The lecture was a valuable opportunity for Party branch secretaries and workers for the Party's affairs to receive theoretical training. It was also of great importance for grassroots Party branches and Party members to raise personal awareness of a Party member, enhance their political and ideological competence, perform their duties with high spirit and motivation, and bring together wisdom and strength toward the Party-building work. Attendees said that they will take outstanding individuals and organizations as an example, firm up their ideals and conviction, strengthen their readiness to shoulder responsibility, strive to be pacesetters, advance the high-quality development of the Party-building work with high morale, forceful measures and pragmatic approaches, become a demonstration organization, and make greater contributions to the high-quality development of the work on women in the capital city.
