Beijing Women's Federation

Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) and the Beijing Women’s Association for Scientists and Technologists (BWAST) have jointly held several women-oriented volunteer activities to strengthen the building of volunteer service stations in communities, arouse local families’ interest in science, and raise women's sense of fulfillment and happiness.

The activities are also designed to further promote the education campaign on the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and provide practical services to the people.

The first leg of the series women-oriented volunteer activities is held in Yanqing district.

The first leg of the series activities opened in a women’s volunteer services station of Kangzhuang township in Yanqing district on September 1.

Wang Ligang and Chen Xuefeng, two researchers with the Institute of the Psychology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, gave their lectures on the topics "The regulation of mental stress and the skills of interpersonal communication" and “Psychological response to emergencies" respectively.

Their lectures related the heavy downpour in Beijing in this July, post-disaster psychological intervention and reconstruction to brief participants on how to keep a healthy mental mood in case of emergencies and the importance of having a positive psychological condition for a better life.

The event drew the attendance of local workers for women's affairs, women volunteers and resident representatives from the township. They engaged in closer interactions with experts and said that the two lectures were very useful for them to look at their work and life from a new perspective.
