The China Final of the She Loves Tech 2023 Global Startup Competition was successfully held on October 10 by Beijing Women's International Center (BWIC) and other relevant agencies under the guidance of Beijing Women's Federation (BWF). Themed "A Year of Transformation," and amid the latest round of sci-tech revolution and industrial transformation, the competition aims to encourage women entrepreneurs to make innovations and start new businesses with science and technology and build a global platform for women to engage in innovation and collaboration. The event comprised 29 sub-competition zones in over 70 countries and regions.

Beijing WM Therapeutics Co. Ltd, which deals with research of brain-related sciences and AI precision medicine, won the China Final of the competition after a series of roadshows, professional comments and oral defense. It will compete with champions from other sub-competition zones in the finale to be held in late October.

Highlights of Entry Programs

The China Final of the She Loves Tech 2023 Global Startup Competition was attended by over 100 teams engaged in a wide range of industrial sectors such as healthcare, bio-medicine, artificial intelligence, big data, sustainable development and software services. The teams reflected the tremendous contributions made by women in high-quality development through sci-tech innovation.

Beijing WM Therapeutics has engaged in the research and development of digital diagnosis and treatment solutions for such brain diseases as depression and Alzheimer's on the basis of its self-developed brain-machine interface technologies. Its award-winning research program has become a major municipal-level one in clinical commercialization in the field of brain science. Zhuhai Yuejuyuesheng Technologies Co., Ltd, which won second place, is committed to the research and development of ultrasonic sensor chips that bear great importance to global information security and digitalization. The team of Shenzhen Huayun Intelligent Health Co., Ltd brought with it a convenient, efficient and painless blood testing device that is suitable for pregnant and lying-in women. It boasts huge market potentials for husbandry and petting sectors. Team FuzFlo made full use of AI technologies to provide enterprises with intelligent databank in actual scenarios. Theteam of the Medical Vision World has fully leveraged imaging technologies to uncover the impact brought by drug metabolism on the human body. The team of Xiamen Fly Gene Biomedical Technology Co., Ltd has developed products and services for people to detect tumors and monitor the recurrence of relevant diseases at home. Beijing Electroencephalogram Technologies has used its brain-machine interface technologies to provide precise and efficient color detection services to people with color weakness and dysopsia. The team of KuuHub has built a personalized and online community for the new-generation business aspirants.

In-depth Communications

To help business women engage in in-depth exchanges and connectivity, the China Final of the She Loves Tech 2023 Global Startup Competition organized a face-to-face event for business aspirants to receive precise advice from investors in terms of fundraising and business ventures.

Yin Le, co-founder of Zhenfund, advised entrepreneurs to stay focused, follow the trend of sci-tech innovation and take concrete actions to solve social problems. Investors from Tsingyuan Capital, Oriza Holdings, Gobi Partners GBA and Sinoeex Private Equity Fund Management Company provided professional guidance and advice to competitors in terms of market analysis, product introduction and project highlights.

Officials from the BWF gave an introduction to the competition and other platforms founded by the federation to help women sci-tech workers display their talents and engage in exchanges under the Women's Action for Sci-tech Innovation: Beijing's Action. They called on business women to further bolster their confidence, unleash personal potentials and strive for higher achievements in sci-tech innovation.

Raise Schooling Girls' Interest in Science, Technology

To strengthen the cultivation of young sci-tech talents, the China Final of the She Loves Tech 2023 Global Startup Competition invited two representatives of students who participated in BWF’s “Sci-tech empowers girls” programs to display the achievements of their sci-techh innovation efforts.

Jiang Zhiyao, a sixth-grade primary school student from Haidian district talked about the development of her self-built student association Qing Jin Club that is committed to promoting the recycling of performance costumes and school uniforms. Teng Zehui, a second-grade student of Beijing No.35 High School, spoke about the application of microbial electrochemical technology in the measurement of water quality. Representatives from investment agencies said the two students are keen to discover problems in their lives, give their solutions to social issues, pay attentions to the sustainable development of the environment and resources and dare to engage in innovation. They encouraged the students to stay committed to sciences and become sci-tech talents with great social influence in the future.

Under the guidance and support of the BWF, the She Loves Tech Global Startup Competition has adhered to the principles of openness, cooperation, joint contribution and shared benefits, continuously seeking partners and pooling resources worldwide available toward the further development of sci-tech workers. The event highlights women's remarkable strength in innovation, and it is an action to promote common development of global women based on the concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind.
