An artistic performance titled "For Children's Future: 2024 Lighting Their Dreams" was held by Bank of Beijing (BOK) and Beijing Radio & Television Station under the guidance of Beijing Women's Federation (BWF) on May 26 to celebrate International Children's Day. The show was broadcast on BRTV on June 1.

The artistic show was attended by Huang Xiaowei, Vice-President and First Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF); Ma Liejian, Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF; Xu Xu, First-Class Inspector of the Office of the National Working Committee on Children and Women under the State Council; Yu Junsheng, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Head of Beijing Radio & Television Station; Zhang Yajun, President of the BWF; Huo Xuewen, President of the BOK; Chen Yanping, Vice-President of the BWF; officials from relevant agencies and 16 district-level women's federations; and children representatives.

The show aimed to further underscore the important consensus reached by people from all social sectors in the capital city in the building of a child-friendly city in the new era. It also seeks to build a positive social atmosphere that shows due respect to children's voice and ideas and pays attention to their development needs. The show consisted of three chapters, with the themes of guarding the innocent heart of children, listening to their voice and accompanying them. It was inspired by the capital city's endeavors to view itself from the physical height of kids and build a children-friendly city. It employed the sharing of classical children's literature and VCR interviews to depict the ideal world in teenagers' hearts, drew the attendance of over 1,000 adult and teenage performers from 15 provincial-level regions nationwide, and presented to the audience a wide range of performances in the forms including musical opera, chorus, dancing, drama and cross-talk.

During the event, the Office of the Beijing Municipal Working Committee on Children and Women and the BWF jointly kicked off a campaign to select teenage spokespersons of the capital city. The thematic activity was designed to guide children to speak out their anticipation, tell their stories with the capital city, come up with child-oriented development proposals, help children foster their sense of masters of the city, promote the building of child-oriented and child-friendly social consensus, and press ahead with the all-round building of child-friendly city. Children representatives talked about their best wishes and longing in the building of a child-friendly city and announced the opening of the campaign.

Collective efforts have been made by women's federations at all levels in Beijing to promote the building of child-friendly brands, and the implementation of five parallel actions that stress children's participation in social practices, growth and empowerment, protection and caring, the building of service platforms, and relevant publicity activities, to advance the healthy and all-round development of children.
