Yanqing Women's Federation recently held a celebration event for the International Children's Day and an artistic performance for teenagers. The event drew the attendance of over 100 children and their parents.
At the beginning of gathering, the federation extended festive greetings and best wishes to children across the district. Together with their parents, several kids aged between 2 and 3 presented an illustration book-based play to show their understanding of love. Members of a women's skiing team joined with children to give aerobics performance titled "Together for a Shared Future" to carry forward the spirit of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. Children from Baiquan sub-district recited a poem titled "In June", helping their peers better feel the strength of poetry. A teenage volunteer performed a comic monologue titled "No Littering" to guide children to foster a good habit of environmental protection. Children from Yuhao Percussion Music Studio gave a show. Guichuan Academy staged a show to help the audience closely appreciate the sound of musical instrument and the beauty of reading. Wenbo Hongyu Dancing Training Center brought a performance, which combined traditional bamboo-horse dancing with modern ice-snow elements and linked traditional Chinese culture with the spirit of the sports.
During the celebration event, the federation also held a prize-winning quiz related to the Great Wall to arouse the love and the sense of responsibility among children toward the protection of the Great Wall. After watching artistic shows, attending kids and their parents toured around a children's painting exhibition. Those exhibited paintings were done by trainees in a parent-child painting class organized by the federation.
Furthermore, Zheng Yuling, President of Yanqing Women's Federation, inaugurated two district-level family education demonstration bases to motivate more social organizations dedicated to family education services.
To fulfill the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, the federation has unveiled a series of thematic activities for local children. More specifically, grassroots women's federations are expected to organize various activities to mark International Children's Day, introduce family education courses and parent-child activities to promote talent cultivation through the integrated efforts of families, schools and the society, and send love as well as caring to over disadvantaged children in a span of six months.
